Introduction and Interactive Table

Picking the right genre for the right audience segments is key to getting good viewer numbers and getting audience segments to love you.
An interactive version of this table (highly recommended) is available here: http://thesilentb.com/empiretv/
In the interactive version, click on the audience icons to highlight the audience you care about, and the other preferences will be dimmed, and the genre names will also highlight to suggest the likely best genres to use for the select audience. It prioritizes on offending people the least, then providing the most enjoyment, that is to say, it will rank two medium responses above a negative and a positive.
If you are playing with the randomized likes and dislikes option (or just want to verify this data), there is an editable, interactive version here[thesilentb.com] that lets you easily cycle through values and flag which values you've verified.

Are you sure? If the Fantasy you were airing was also Cult, or Cartoon, or 16+, or Adult, it'll bump it up a level (from yellow to blue). Will need to confirm with a vanilla Fantasy.

Honestly, I'm not sure. I also assumed type of event, but occasionally it didn't behave like I'd expect, but I never wrote down my experiences, so I'm not completely sure ^_^. From the other comments I read, I think the Zoo Escape event would be Documentary if you send your reporter to interview people, but maybe Horror if you send then into the sewers. I only read those comments after I stopped playing, so haven't confirmed, though it seems plausible.

Ohh, see I always thought it was the type of event. I think I remember seeing somewhere that the zoo appealed to old people as it was like a documentary (?)

Sorry, nope, I never quite figured those out. From comments I read elsewhere, it seems like your choice of location to send the reporter determines which "genre" the news report is (e.g. send then to the stadium, and it'll be Sports , presumably matching the row for Sports above).
