How to use a Rotational Hand Controller (RHC)
and a Translation Hand Controller (THC)
for realistic space simulators:

by This way you can do a realistic docking, just as the astronauts do it.

First you will need:

the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick (Or any other similar, this was the one I used)

I used : the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick, since with this is possible to perform the Yaw rotation.

as a Translation Hand Controller (THC) I used : 3Dconnexion SpaceNavigator 3D Mouse, Because with this is possible to perform translations in six directions (Forward, Backward, Up, Down, Left and Right).

Finally you will also need some Velcro straps of your choice to place the controller to Place it in the proper position.

I placed it vertically on my desk in such a way that it was as it is in reality, for this I used Velcro straps.

Finally for the input I used a software called Xpadder, in this way the computer can recognize the commands of both joysticks.

Unfortunately 3dconnexion devices won't work anymore for newest drivers, so in order of having the spacenavigator for notebooks and many others to work as a TRANSLATIONAL HAND CONTROLLER (THC) in some Space Simulators, you will need to Uninstall first any 3dconnexion software previewsly installed on your machine, if that is your case; just follow/read: How to uninstall 3dconnexion 3d mouse drivers.txt (which is included), if you have never installed any 3dconnexion software on your machine, just skip this and install 3DxWare64_v10-5-3_r2686.exe (also included), then follow/read: 3d connexion mouse cfg files location.txt
