Achievement Guide (Diet Spoiler edition)
由 Duchock 制作
The Hex is a very rewarding gameplay experience - and in the words of the great Lionel himself, "Hiding secrets like these are a great way to keep a player engaged." This guide aims to help give you a push in the right direction while still letting the player experience the game as (mostly) intended.

Introduction
Welcome to the Six Pint Inn.

You know why you're here... or maybe you don't? This guide is written assuming you, the player, have played through the game at least once. During your first playthrough, I hope you got to experience a couple of these achievements. They add an extra layer of story telling and exposition that makes the story melt into a delicious fondue of equal parts creep and intrigue.

This guide aims to not explicitly tell you solutions, but will point you into the right direction, or at least start you down the rabbit hole to finding the solution. Hidden achievements will be spoiler'd to maintain an extra layer of secrecy. Each achievement will have increasingly explicit hints, so try to achieve in the fewest hints possible! While I encourage you to explore and find these achievements on your own (yes, close this guide and explore!), the achievements are much like this game - a better experience the less you know going into it.

With that being said, let's get started...
Regular Gameplay Achievements
You are not reading this guide to know how to complete these achievements, but for the sake of completion, here they are!

  • Childhood Ruined - Completed Super Weasel Kid's memory.
  • Overdone - Completed Bryce's memory.
  • Lousy Tenant - Completed Chandrelle's memory.
  • Rocky Road - Completed Rust's memory.
  • Pyrrhic Victory - Completed Lazarus' memory.
  • That Was Lionel Snill Completed ???'s memory.
  • The Hex - Opened The Hex.
Coin Collect-a-thon
You may have gotten one or both of these achievements in your regular play through... which if so, congratulations, you've grown to appreciate overpriced root beer just a little bit more.

  • Insert Coin - Crack a soda vending machine at The Six Pint.
  • Ice Cold - Crack all the vending machines at The Six Pint.
For Ice Cold, you must crack them all within a single run - meaning you can't open one, reset, open a different one, etc... But don't worry, you can collect all the cold, hard coinage you need by using the chapter selector for ???'s first section.

Here's a few general hints to get you started.
Pay attention to your surroundings... you could have overlooked one right in front of you!
... or beneath you
... or beneath something else?
The walls hide a cache for a rainy day
...and on more than one occasion!
Take a second look again at those surroundings. Some art is for more than just show.
If it looks suspicious, it probably is for a reason. Keep looking around you!
Super Weasel Kid... the classic
Nothing quite like reliving your childhood... or at least someone else's childhood. Each game from here on out will have two achievements: one regular, and one hidden. In terms of difficulty, SWK ranks at 2/5... not too easy, but not too hard.

  • No Thanks, Mr. Shrewd! - Complete the original Super Weasel Kid without any help from MR. Shrewd.
  • The Full Truth - Learn all of Catarina's secrets in Super Weasel Kid.

Our regular achievement should be pretty self-evident. Just make it all the way to the end without hitting any spikes or groombas. Mr. Shrewd will be so proud.

Our hidden achievement you may have already run into once! Fun fact for hardcore SWK fans: Catarina is in every SWK game! Don't forget the coins. She always seems to be up so high... S̷̨̲̘̺̟̥͚h̴̹̞̻̣̠e҉͖̤̯̳̯̻̤̟ ̨̹̙͢a̮̺͉̪̪̠̬l̥̗͟w͈̺͖̪͍͍á̛͙̟͉͖͇͇̞̝̦y҉̨̧͕ş͈͖̟̻͞ ̶͕͎̲̝̹ś̰̠̻e̲̯̲͇e̡̜͙̙̠̰̠̞͎m̨̭s̖̘̱̯ ̷͠ͅt̶̺͉̼̬o̸̢̤͕̫ͅ ҉̯̞͓̣̺b̙̙͈̩̯̮̟̻͠ͅe̹̣̘͞ ̢͉͟͠u̶̵̺̪͙̥ṕ̖̭͠͞ͅ ̘̤̻̻̙̥̘̯ş̶̛̭̻͎ó̕҉̯̳̼̮̳̻̜͈̘ ̢̠͈̘̦̫̥̳͕͠h̪̭̟̼͚͚͘i̛̘̩ͅg̢̠̠͓̻h͏̸̫̞͎̤͕.͎̮̮̜̱̱͘̕.͏̢̢͔̗̖̲.̷͖̲ͅ
Combat Arena X... the follow-up
Fighting games were never my thing. My one regret is that we never got to play as fan favorite Steambot Willie. Buckle up, this hidden achievement is probably the hardest to find. A full 5/5 difficulty.

  • OK, now 1000! - Score a 1000 hit combo in Combat Arena X.
  • we ain't m8's - Score a true KO on Alley Gator in Combat Arena X.

For our regular achievement, you may have already gotten this one in your first playthrough. If you didn't, make sure you patched Bryce correctly. If you're still having trouble, try dying to Sado's hands.

For our hidden achievement, you can't force a fight that a croc alligator doesn't want. But maybe you can bring the fight to him? You probably won't know all you need to know from just this game. Unfortunately there's no player guide for this game... but maybe you can still find something helpful written down somewhere. It would so be like Lionel to give his favorite character a very special move. And even more like him to hide a reference to it almost a decade later.
Secrets of Secrets of Legendaria
So many secrets and so little time. This game by far is the most expansive, the most to see, and the most to find! You're not awarded achievements for most of what this game has to offer, and there's some pretty cool stuff here. Even way cooler than Vallamir. In terms of difficulty, get ready, this one is a 4/5.

  • For 'Mir's Sake - Deal at least 500 damage in a single strike in Secrets of Legendaria.
  • Got To Catch Them All - Find Missing No. in Secrets of Legendaria

Our regular achievement is pretty self-explanatory again! Think about how you could do this. No special hacks needed! Just raw power. There's a few ways to do this, but just pick one and go for it. Crocodile tears will help you no matter which way you go. My personal strategy is to fight the Sahagin with an Endervale sword and hope for a crit.

Our hidden achievement is the first of this game's guest appearances. Only hardcore SoL fans know all the game's secrets... except for one feature cut from the game... which you can still find if you can afford the toll. Just take some time and relax - you never know what you might fish up! And if you're not getting any bites... try somewhere less tropical. The sea might just end up telling you something. If you consider yourself young, you might just not get the reference. I recommend 300cc's of Google, stat! BONUS Non-achievement related find: You can fish up another message from the sea, but you'll have to think much harder about what it means.
What a Waste World
No mods needed to finish these achievements. Waste World gives us some pretty straight forward content. I rank this game a 1/5 in terms of achievability difficulty.

  • Beginning To Feel Like A Scrap God - Buy 10 upgrades from the Scrap Shop in Waste World.
  • M0RE_FRI#NDLY(C0NTENT) - Activate a gated mod in Waste World.

Our regular achievement once again, is rather self-explanatory. Scrap should carry over from game-to-game, so if you restart, you'll still have all the scrap you've collected! Don't forget to back track to visit all of Rebecha's shops.

Our hidden achievement is not very well hidden. But to find it, you'll need an item that won't help at all in battle. Just walk around... you'll find it sooner or later.
Vicious Galaxy...?
This is a bit awkward since you are not actually playing a game, but there's still a few things to do here... from guns to love, this chapter has it all. I give this one a 3/5 - keen sense of observation required.

  • 360 No Scope - Perform a 360 No Scope with a sniper rifle.
  • What's Kraken - Wooed a Great Kraken.

Our regular achievement is a good example of indulging your reading comprehension skills. There's one particular part in this chapter where you use a sniper rifle. Your first enemy is usually the easiest, but I encourage you to try trick shots of all variety.

Our hidden achievement features a character we didn't see nearly enough of the first time. And we really don't see much of here either... Keep an eye out - you might see a friend peeking up at you. You'll need to be compressed to chase him/her down. I hope this hunt doesn't become your white whale... in a manner of speaking.
Magnum Opus
You made it! It's the grand finale and oh boy, is there plenty of things to find here. Let's just start with the achievements you'll find here. I rank these a 5/5 in difficulty... mostly because I haven't found the proper non-cheating solution myself!

  • Master Mechanic - Help Rebecha survive the first wave in Walk.
  • Card Captive - Receive 4 card readings from Catarina in Walk.

Our regular achievement happens when you try to salvage an already bad situation... and with hundreds, thousands watching you no less! If you're really good at RPGs, this shouldn't be too difficult. Don't forget, you can always change up your programming on the fly!

Our hidden achievement is really quite hidden! I wonder if IT departments in game development companies also uninstall solitaire from their employee's PCs. Might as well check 'em to find out! ... and maybe double check 'em too. Not enough for a full deck... but you might find another later on. Be sure to check every nook... cranny... and cavern. Ok, real talk, after getting that last card, I have no idea how to properly continue the game and have the fortune read on it. You're on your own Since a patch fixed this, you now carry over your findings after saves/reloads, so... do that! That is, unless you're clever and can figure out how to alter your save file.
Side Quests
These achievements go above and beyond - spanning across multiple games and characters. Pay attention, follow the trail, and try to keep track of it all. This is where your critical thinking, and sometimes acting against your instinct, will pay off.

  • Shrewd Awakening - Discovered the truth about Mr. Shrewd.
  • Heheh - Free Vallamir.

Our first achievement goes down quite a dark path.... We have all wondered what happened to Mr. Shrewd after '09. So why not investigate? The best place to start to find someone missing is usually the person who last knew their whereabouts. You'll need to start by stealing a memento of his... and then stealing buying it again later... making sure to fix 'em up... by someone who is handy... and then stealing buying bartering for it again... carry on forward and you might run into a familiar face!

Our second achievement demands justice for the best character in the game. It's truly unjust for a society to punish a special, unique individual just for being who they were designed to be! Ok, no more soap box. We know Chandelle's opinion of Vallamir... but what about everyone else's? Be sure to grab that glowing orb of radiation off of her head first, though. The conversation should lead you to what you should do next... which is following through on the rendezvous. Look far and wide and you might just stumble into them. We already know the state the Inn is in, so I would doubt Reggie keeps carpentry tools of any kind in the Inn. ???
Saved the best for last...
These next achievements are thematically related. They are some of the most buried secrets of this game, and by far the most rewarding to find. If you've spoiled yourself on achievements thus far, I highly encourage you to try these out on your own, or only use a minimal amount of my hints here.

The objective of these achievements is to break Lionel's games.
  • ERROR 57 - Crashed Secrets of Legendaria.
  • ERROR 2X - Crashed Combat Arena X.
  • ERROR 33 - Crashed Waste World.
  • ERROR 09 - Crashed Super Weasel Kid '09.
  • ERROR 3 - Crashed Walk

Before we start talking about each one individually, here are some generic hints to get you started.
As with all achievements, use your powers of observation! Look over every surface, and play around with everything possible. Attention to detail is not as important as a sense of exploration.
Except for one of them, you'll be able to find very vital hints on how to trigger these achievements in one particular game
No, it's not a super secret hidden game you haven't found - it's one of the six you played!

Okay. Take a deep breath. Let's get started.

Achievement the first: I hope you read the rest of my guide and found the other achievements first before trying these! The hardest part is finding something you probably haven't found yet. Once you have all the pieces you need, the solution will be clear. No more help! Keep looking! You'll know it when you find it. Don't overthink it.

Bonus content when you've found this achievement: https://dmullinsgames.itch.io/the-ooze

Achievement the second: Did he really tell you? Guess you'll have to find it out on your own.
Don't
think it
.

Achievement the third: With great power comes great responsibility. Use what you know from the game to think of the best way to exploit this power. I left this part of the guide half finished. It also saved me some writing time.

Achievement the fourth: It shouldn't be too hard to crash this game, right? Spoiler, it actually is pretty hard. Gamefuna might have already been aware of this one... and Lionel too!

Achievement the fifth: This one might be a little too Daniel Mullins-esque. Just push it to its limit. Some games crash due to memory overflow or memory underflow. This is almost like that. The achievement icon should be a hint to point you in the right area....
That's all folks
Thanks to:
Daniel Mullins for creating this game
Velocity Squid on Steam for getting the solution to ERROR X2
Anyone who can tell me how to properly do Card Captive without cheating this has been fixed in a patch!
Lionell Snill
You for reading this. Thank you.
Also thank you if you didn't read this.
Just thank you.

I love this guide. The concept and the idea is really vital for a game like this. Thank you for making the guide.

However, in the last achievements, I get that they are meant to be super-secret, but the clues given were not helpful at all (except for one in crashing Walk, that was pretty good but I would still recommend adding better phrasing, optionally ), because they only truly make sense after obtaining said achievements.

(for comment readers, only read further if you 100%-ed the achievements! from top to bottom due to hitting char limit)
First of all, emphasizing that ALL OF Lionel's hints for these are found in a single game is a good start. except for Walk itself, where - again - the hint was well-executed.

in SoL: People do not read all of the guide, players may only need these diet hints for a specific part. I recommend hinting at the secret location a bit more directly, instead of saying "read back in the guide and find what i could be talking about".
in CA X: This one did not help at all. The in-game hint for this is indeed at the backside poster (like Bryce's "ultimate"), but figuring out "cone-ami (friend in french)-code" from those 3 symbols felt far-fetched. It looked like the icon of VLC player and I have been frantically trying to manipulate the files, only to realize it was wordplay. Sadly, I had to look it up myself due to how faint the hint is to the solution. I would rewrite all of it, linking it to something retro-related at the very least... and if "he" is referring to Sado (which I could be wrong about since I still don't know what it's pointing at), then here is a reminder that Sado was meant to be a feminine character.

in WW: Utterly useless unfortunately, everything apart from the first sentence is misleading. Since the method of finding the in-game hint is just the same as Bryce's "ultimate", that is already enough.
in SWK: This gives too much room for overthinking the solution by stating that it's pretty hard to crash the game. I get where the last 2 hints are meant to guide, but please rephrase "being aware" to something else related to reading (the agreement. perhaps stating something about users usually not reading it would also be pretty hinting in my opinion). It only makes sense after having figured it out.

Regardless, take my award. Thanks again for making this, I hope people look up to this instead of spoiling themselves entirely.

oh, and on the topic of my last comment (can't reply), you only need 4 cards, apparently. the 5th is seemingly if you're curious. you just need a reading for all 4.

for the magnum opus hidden achievement, checking the "out of place" computers is what i did, especially when theres some "secrets" projected.
you can find them all between arena x and SoL

Ok, so i have checked another guide to see why i couldn't recreate the error i've did before. It turned out that i've did it completely wrong and by mistake. Therefore, i've got the error without knowing what i've did. (and ye, now i know there's quite an obvious hint on one of the episodes, the clues this guides gives are cryptic enough to be confusing yet revealing once you know the answer. So, i'll score it 4 stars because of the effort put on the guide.)

Now this is an interesting way to help some people without spoiling too much. There were some that managed to do without the hints, and there were others that had to search for them in here, as i would most likely won't figure them out.

I'm currently attempting the error one, which are the only missing awards.
Only managed to do error09
so far, and even then i'm not that sure on how i've managed to do it. I've spent quite sometime attempting something though.

Sadly I find many of the "hints" really lacking / useless. I know you don't wanna give it away but then again if they were so simple to find I wouldn't look up a guide anyways. Played SWK like 10 times now, found the secret door, found the chin, found catarine in the first, but could not crash the game. Your non-"hints" make this even more frustrating.

On Card Captive without cheating, I posted this in of the threads but I'll post it here too.

You can't jump using the scene select without losing your progress, but completing The Hex and finishing the credits will set your "continue" scene at the beginning of ???'s chapter, with your cards intact. So you can simply finish the game after collecting the card, click the door to continue, then play through Walk a second time up until you can talk to Catarina again.

I should mention that you don't actually need The Inn card to get the achievement, though. Counting The Oracle card itself there are 5 cards in total.

Thanks for the shout out!
