All the other guides on here tell you to install games for windows live and some other files then restart your PC before you can play this awesome game. Don't you wish you can just do a quick and easy fix and play right away without restarting your PC. Well I'm here to do just that. This is so quick only needs 5 minutes 10 minutes if you need to download a unzipping program. Continue reading and you will have your game playable with in minutes no fuss no problems and best of all it works on Windows 7/8/10 both 32 and 64 bit versions.

Lets get rid of that screen for good.


All you have to do is download the zip file below and extract it to the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection\BINARIES\WIN32 folder.

This will bypass the GFWL crap. You won't be able to play online but at least you can play the game you paid for.
You won't even get the GFWL overlay.

The zip file contains 2 files a xlive.dll and a xlive.ini file. Nothing else is in the zip. Feel free to scan it. In fact i encourage you to just so you feel safe and to see it is a safe file. You will need Winrar[rarlab.com] or Winzip[www.winzip.com] either will work.

According to littlejarofdirt these instructions work on the steam deck. I don't own a steam deck so i didn't test this my self. If you have a steam deck and this works for you, please leave a comment to let others know that it also worked for you to.


Long press the power button and "Switch to desktop".
Use Steam to navigate to OPs post and download the files.
Extract them and then cut/copy from your downloads folder.
Paste them into Home > .local > share > Steam> steamapps > common > Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection > Binaries > WIN32
Boot the game from steam while still in desktop mode once (this last step might be optional).

When you are done and the files are in the correct location you should be greeted with the following screen. Once you press enter.

No more GFWL crap and now you can play the game you bought with no problems. The only down side like i said is no online playing.
