Good to know that it only counts uses per playthrough. Although I didn't encounter problems with counting itself. Just before finishing the game (after hunting for scholar and quiet symphony) i got 300 uses. I'm using full tank for a single thrust. You can either jump constantly under an obstacle e.g. stairs to the Sister starship or jump around. Almost all of the uses counted (not sure if all cause im bad at counting to 50). Single fuel cell gives you approx. 11 full uses.
