Survive Group Chat(The Unofficial Server Browser) and how to use it for CO-OP.

Unfortunately, as we know Metal Gear Survive's matchmaking isn't that good and Survive also lacks a server browser. I'm not saying that I can make a better matchmaking than Konami but it isn't working as good as we want and need.

Fortunately we can use Metal Gear Survive group chat(Which is somehow a kind of a server browser) for now until the day that Konami fixes this problem.

Benefits compared to Matchmaking:
1.More players .
2.After every coop mission the group won't get disbanded.
3.Faster to find players.
4.Other players can also find you faster.
5.Play with players from different regions.(unlike matchmaking that is limited to 1 region)
6.You can ask questions about the game in group chat. You will get answers faster than Steam Discussion !
7.You can also have private chat with other players when you want to use chat for Survive coop without the need to add them as your freind.

Update 10/18/2018: made some fixes to the guide and added a new picture to it.

Update 5/26/2019: Since I'm not in the group chat anymore, I removed the link(Which it probably doesn't work anymore) and added another way of joining into Group Chat.
So no need to get an invite link from me anymore.

Getting Started:
1.Join the Survive group chat :
Go to Metal Gear Survive Forum ---> All section (https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/app/543900)
Choose Group Chat in the top-right of the page which is highlighted in white and is underlined.(Shown in the picture below.)




2.Start the game.
3.Go into coop staging area.










4.use shift+tab(which opens the Steam overlay) to select the group chat.Group chat is below of friends list.






















5.Open the group chat and steam will open the group chat window which is like this:














6. Join players that are hosting the game by right clicking on their profile and select:"Join game". Join profiles that are in Metal Gear Survive and are playing coop. if they aren't playing coop "join game" option won't appear.




















Or you can ask people to join you you should also tell them the difficulty are you playing.(For example: "I'm hosting daily extreme. 2 slots are empty".)

7.enjoy coop !
Tips.
1. When hosting matches, select the private matches do not select quick matches at all cost !

2.Users that their profile is covered by a green color are in a game.(Whether it's MGSurvive or other games)

3. You can ask if anyone is hosting the game in group chat.(For example: "LFG extreme" which means looking for a game/group for extreme difficulty)
Also tell people your character level.

4. If your massage is directed at a specific player use @ sign. (For example: @dprog1995 we are playing extreme, join us.)
With @ sign that player will get a notification for this massage unlike the normal massages.




5. You can have private chat with other players in group chat even those that aren't your friends.(Just right click on the profile and select "Send Message".
FAQ
A) I can't select "join game" when I right click on the profiles !


















solution:
1.open steam setting
2.go to web browser section
3.Enable "Allow desktop Web browsers to automatically log into steam sites."
4.Restart steam for the setting to take effect.













B) Others can't join me !
solution:
1. In chat setting set your profile to online.







2.Allow the people to see the games you are currently playing:
-click on you profile on the top right of steam browser.
-select View my profile
-Select Edit Profile
-select My Privacy Settings
-make game details setting public.






C) Shift+Tab doesn't work ! Steam Overlay doesn't work !
solution: Enable steam overlay while in games:
1.open settings.
2.Go to In-Game section
3.Enable the "Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game." setting.
D) No One Joins me ! No One Responds to me !
solution: Try joining players that are on the right side of group chat screen.(That are playing MG survive obviously)

J'aurait jamais pensé que metal gaer survive était encore d'actualité en 2024 !!
A l'époque je jouait sur Playstation (je jouait pas encore sur PC) et il y a plus aucun joueur de nos jours sur les serveurs....

IDK, it's been a while since I played this game. You can also try Survive Discord. Maybe you will get lucky there.

So this method doesn't work anymore? I came back to the game yesterday and i can't join anyone in public chat.

@MindDöser your welcome. I just hope Konami releases their own version of lobby browser in the game.(Since console gamers only have quickmatch and inviting friends way)
