On the other hand this wouldn't translate very well to campaign, where winning with minimum losses is the aim. My Russian campaign in Napoleon was quite different to Britain/Prussia/France...
Lastly, both the Ottomans and Maratha Conf. have line infantry known as Isarelys and Bargir Infantry:
https://wiki.totalwar.com/w/Isarelys_(ETW_unit).html
Isarelys are inferior to standard line inf. in every regard unfortunately.
https://wiki.totalwar.com/w/Bargir_Infantry_(ETW_unit).html
Bargir Infantry are average with a superior defensive stat of +2 defense.
Neither have fire by rank as Eastern Nations making both significantly weaker, but Ottomans are the hardest faction ingame.
I think the wiki may have been made later than this guide, but either way it can be useful to have the information in two places. And I do give some examples and opinions to go with the statistics.
Thanks for the links!

Plug bayonets add +3 melee attack once equipped.
Ring bayonets replace plug bayonets, but give you a -5 reload skill until socket bayonets are researched. (Since the average reload skill is 25. This accounts for a 20% decrease in reload skill, this has a substantial inpact ingame. Even more of an impact if your playing as Russia with a below average reload skill. This is why ring bayonets should only researched when intending to go directly to socket bayonets).
Socket bayonets nullify the -5 reload skill returning it to normal, but give no additional bonus beyond this.
I can't tell you how many times I've won battles with this set up where i was outnumbered 10 to 1 or more. The key is to manually control every cannon, don't let them fire at will.
