Finally got around to finishing the experiment. Yeah, the Market doesn't make much of a difference aside fewer final bids (~2 bids) for slightly higher value (~$10).No real bang for buck optimizing it like that (Though, I did make a good chunk of cash from it. Final Score: 1,760 + 1,753 = $3,513. Optimized build won, but not by much that matters.). No less, making 2 used PCs daily is a nice side-profit/discipline to develop.

So, basically my best daily approach with PCBS with PCBay to prepare for this BS is:
Prepare for next work day, workday, purchase PCBay items, make 2 Used PCs (and if no case is available, just buy 1 or 2, and cram them with the spare parts. No major difference. Of course, fill in any blanks for completion.). Have fun.

Just got the Market App, and it's just as I thought. I just crafted a machine optimized for maximum market gain (Used my most expensive used parts that have an upward incline on the Market graphs to within a 5-day estimate (aiming for items closest to the ceiling/crest of the parabola by 5th-day), with some hints from (old) email for additional guidance). I don't know if the whole PC's value increases if it's built out of parts that'll sell much better in 5 days or not (overall bids increase up to +10% expected). Being sold alongside it is a PC made with nothing but the most expensive items in my inventory, regardless market opinion (after building the market-optimized PC, first). Experiment: Will the Market-optimized out-sell the Control PC, a Non-market-optimized top-rate of similar rank? To aid the experiment, and my wallet, both PCs have the same market-opted-GPU. See you in 5-game days.

I haven't gotten the Market app, yet; but I bet we can get much better value from our used PC builds, instead of just focusing on our most expensive/compatible parts. If we really exploit/follow the market, and and build PCs with the brands/types listed as best value (Timing the sales for maximum value, being the trick) we can get a bit more than usual, I think. I need to actually understand the app and the market mechanics better before I find something that works. But I think I can squeeze a little bit more income if it works how I think it does; though it seems kinda tedious to do for an extra buck. We'll see.

I think I would generally allow forgiveness on a new CPU/GPU being the finisher, if missing either component (CPU or GPU is the only new part used), since I think the 3DMark score is also an influence to resale prices. And since I noticed benchmarking, and then 3DMarking also improves Rigg's prices in the IT-Expansion, I think it somewhat applies to PCBay, too. I've yet to see how much CPU/GPU overclocking further influences value, first-hand.

A good tip to keep PCBay useful: Only build low-end PCs if you're junking excess old crap in your used inventory (Do you really need all those Celerons?). At least earn a more decent buck from them. That aside, always build with the best/top-of-the-(used)-line in your inventory, only using new parts where it makes sense (cheap completion on a modest 3DMark score). And sell at least 1 PC a day, since you collect the maximum bids on the 5th day. Always buy PCs. Pre-mades are basically loot-boxes of used parts, or a free office PC upgrade.

What I generally do is I buy everything under the sun from PCBay, and basically chop everything up that comes from there (broken and functional PCs alike), and add to my 'used items' stockpile, while shelving the empty cases in the cupboard, and then sell the broken stuff, and keep buying the new stuff for the clients in most cases.

My process for the daily grind goes: (Begin/Finish) Workday, Prepare for the next workday, buying all relevant parts for the jobs. PC-Builds can be done same-day, if needed. With leftover funds, buy all PCBuild items on sale. And of course, craft 2 PCs using mostly used parts and sell them (2 sold daily w/ 5-day delay). New parts can be used to finish a build if low on used parts.

Haven't really considered removing client parts, though.

How do you exactly use PCBay? Do you just buy parts there and buy rest from the store, or do you use the trick with removing clients parts?

My next challenge is getting to $1,000,000 at top speed, via PCBay mainly. Since I have a level or 2 to go before this, I might be more than prepared in short order. Good way to go about that is making 2 PCs/Day for PCBay (Working with the 5-day delay to make a daily income. Rigg's (IT Expansion) works differently from PCBay.). Get enough of a profit to custom-build 2x S-class (to current-level limits) computers on a daily basis, and make a fortune in no time. I'm currently selling at $2500 each, Selling 2x/day = +$5000/day, 1000000/5000 = 200 days. I'm only getting started. I start to (inevitably) sell for higher, this method can shorten the time to as low as 70 days to reach a million (from $0); possibly less. Unless it's possible to sell for $10000+/each, then maybe 50-day range to make a million. Still tedious, but it's so much better than 200 days of this crap

Well, it can't be a proper simulator without a sufficiently crap day or two to put the player through; e.g. flight simulators and sudden fuel loss. In this story arc: you get scammed a fair sum. I think it was designed to be as unpleasant/obnoxious as possible to also simulate such an unpleasant encounter. Kinda reminds me of an old saying: "Be prepared."

In this case: Be more financially prepared before taking on this task. In a way, I think this is to encourage making PCs for PCBay to get better prepared ahead of time. I mean, I'm just a few levels shy of when you did this arc; and my bank is going to look nice by the time I meet this nightmare. That is, despite having had a $3000 overdraft (by mainly getting the cupboard (PC Case overload), and missions expenses + PCBay purchases. ...And also because I wanted to get the achievements for going broke along the way, too; and getting out of that debt, as well (successfully). I mean, why not?).

The job was fixed. Now you get an adequate payment, even if it gets a bit tight sometimes it never goes into the red. All new parts, of course.
