Sydney Trains K set (8 cars)

Omschrijving
Deprecated. Delisted. Check out JenperTC's improved model :)

Includes two assets: SydKset-8LC (line coloured), SydKset-8-NLC (non line coloured)
4 car set available here: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1495983095

The 4 car version will be good for most cities, but this is the real deal you'll actually see in Sydney - it's two 4-car sets connected back-to-back.

Warning: this is a pretty long train. It will stick out both ends of the base game train station, and one car will stick out the end of the Mass Transit multi-platform station. It does pick up passengers and run properly but it looks a bit awkward - check out the workshop for some longer station items out there.

Most trains operating in Sydney are 8 car sets, and they are also double-decker - these are heavy duty people movers. Each car in this set has a capacity of 80, for a total of 640 passengers.

Features:
- 1024x1024 D, A, S, I, N, C
- 2582 triangles on the power carriage (84 LOD)
- 1956 triangles on the trailer carriage (76 LOD)
- line-coloured and non line-coloured sets included (SydKset-8LC and SydKset-8-NLC; NLC = no line colour)
- 4,5, and 8th car preset to be engine cars without additional mods. (However, I still recommend Improved Public Transport 2 and Advanced Vehicle Options)
- it doesn't lean as much going around bends as the regular trains

Doesn't that just require a metro sub-building to work properly? They're different building AIs, surely..

I mean regular trains but with underground stops as well as ground level stations.

The railway replacer mod also complicates things in terms of how I share it on the workshop -_-
I don't know what you mean by non-metro underground, unless you mean vanilla metro but not MoM metro

Basically all of the inner west stations are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up in similar ways, though. They're all either half sunken (cut into a hill), or enter from a bridge (not really possible in skylines). It doesn't get normal til you get past Strathfield, basically. But I will figure it out as I go.

Underground non-metro stations would also be cool

I do, but every time I think about how to do it I get a headache. It's built into a hill, there's so many different elevations at play, so many entrances, four different types of transport (if you count rail and metro separately), probably needing custom networks, probably needs MoM integration to properly link up the non-intercity platforms with an underground city circle.. plus it's in the middle of construction for the foreseeable future.. do I settle for a different point in time? It's a dizzying challenge. I am going to focus on other stations first, since I have zero experience making stations.. I will focus on inner west stations and city circle stations until I am confident to try Central.

Do you plan on making central Station?

Going from memory since I'm on my phone, I have set all my carriages at 80 capacity since they are double deckers. So the 8 car would be able to move 640 people at a time.

Fair enough, it looks great in any case and really appreciate someone doing Sydney based content. Cheers mate
