EUN Ribbon Team

Representing the United Nations of Earth, the Ribbons are one of the most well-established teams in the IAGL lineup. In the latest season, the team is once again represting the expertise of EUNSF military technology by fielding a chassis based on the 'SN' line of Strike Fighters used in the Orion Star-Force. With peerless shield and weapons technology, there is no other racing craft as capable as the Ribbons' when it comes to high speed combat.

Full Team Name: Earth's United Nations Star Force, 450th Squadron - Ribbon Team.
Permanent Base: South Africa, Earth.

Chassis: SN-X5 'Drifter'.
Main Drives: Dual Y-13F ITF engines.
Weapons systems: Custom military-grade EUNSF weapon array.
Shields: Custom military-grade EUNSF composite barrier.

The EUNSF should be familiar to anyone with even a passing interest in the Orion Star-Force. The United Nations of Earth are the single largest producer of military equipment in the Orion Federation. It is not controversial to say that without the contributions of the legendary Jupiter Shipyards, many of us would not be here to watch the IAGL today as our homeworlds would have been razed by the ever-present threat of the Sentinels.

While the EUNSF is best known for their peerless capital ships, they also produce many excellent Strike Fighters, and it is this experience that allows the Ribbons to compete in the IAGL. The Ribbon racing team was founded when the 450th Squadron - a non-combat aerobatic display team - was reorganised to compete in the most popular sport in the Orion Federation: the IAGL. Although this pivot was seen by some as a dramatic change, the EUNSF explained that the purposes of the team remain the same:

• Representing the skills and values of the EUNSF.
  
• Supporting Terran industries.
  
• Contributing towards defence diplomacy.
  
• Aiding recruitment to the EUN Armed Forces.

The team is made up of pilots, engineers, and support personnel who have served on the frontline with the EUNSF. This season marks the team's 54th, and hopes are high that the new generation can recreate the success that the Ribbons have previously enjoyed.


This custom ship was made in response to me discovering that I think planes are cool. The catalyst for this revelation is a video game series that fans will easily recognise, as I have not been subtle when making references to it in the design of this craft.
