In Windows, changing framerate and aspect ratio will still unlock achievements. But daily challenges are 4:3 and 30/60 fps only.
  • Right click Nuclear Throne on steam and left click Properties...



  • Left click BETAS on the left hand side of the menu and select openbeta_win64 - Open Beta for 2023 Testing. Close the properties menu and the game will update.



  • Launch the game, go to Settings > Game > Mechanics



  • Choose your framerate and aspect ratio, customize it with the custom fps/size option if you wish.

Mac/Steam OS+Linux
  • Right click Nuclear Throne on steam and left click Properties...



  • Left click BETAS on the left hand side of the menu and select ntt_development - NTT test build. Close the properties menu and the game will update.



  • Launch the game, go to Settings > Game > Mechanics



  • Choose your framerate and aspect ratio, customize it with the custom fps/size option if you wish.


How to play in 60 fps while still unlocking achievements. (For Mac/Steam OS+Linux only)

  • Right click Nuclear Throne on steam and left click Properties...



  • Left click BETAS on the left hand side of the menu and select openbeta - Open Beta for 2021 Testing. Close the properties menu and the game will update.



  • Launch the game, go to Settings > Game and change the framerate option to 60.

The beta branch is Windows-only so you'd have to run it through Proton/WINE

Settings > game mechanics wont show up for me. I'm on POP_OS!, any ideas why?

after unlocking an achievement on steam, the game gives me an error message and my only option is to select "abort" which closes the game. And in game, it looks like i have not done the achievement altough steam says i unlocked it...? help?

You should also add if no one wants the "Beta" Name in the game, thery can simply Copy the Files to Desktop, install Nuclear Throne fresh without the Beta, and then just Copy Paste those files back in. It's much nicer and cleaner this way.
