It doesn't matter if Marc removes the restraint or Alla does but either event (restrainted or not) comes to a head at the end of Sequence 5 when Teng arrives. Alla can't remove the restraint if Marc did. If Alla and Marc didn't remove it, then Teng and Alla are safe.

Ah, I didn't know there was a second chance to remove the restraint. That's probably why it wasn't working for me. Thanks for mentioning it.

I edited the guide to identify sequences.

I haven't tried doing that so I don't know. I think you have to replay and then it saves the choices you make as you go. When you choose a sequence to replay, it loads the variables you last had when you completed it.

If you're trying to find the fastest way to get all the endings:
1) leave the restraint on in sequence 1
2) leave the restraint on in sequence 5
3) get "Not without me" and "Red letter day" in sequence 7
4) load sequence 5
5) remove restraint
6) stand ground as Teng
7) get "Green giant," "Distributed risk," and "Personal responsibility" in sequence 7
8) load sequence 5
9) remove restraint
10) dodge as Teng
11) get "Big Pharma," "The bigger life form" and "Law & Order" in sequence 7

So if I re-enable the restraint in Sequence 1, play it to completion, then use the sequences menu to skip to Sequence 8, will the restraint stay disabled? Or would I have to play through every sequence using the continue button?

To clarify: you'll have to play through the last two sequences of the games 8 times to get all 8 endings. Restraint stayed basically requires replying the game if you disabled it in sequence 1.

Are you able to toggle the Restraint state and then skip forward through the Sequences menu? Or do you have to play the game through in one sitting in order to get the endings with the restraint still enabled?
