Overview
Minion Trait Guide 1.0

Description:
This technical guide offers an exhaustive list of Traits, Trait Descriptions, and an explanation on what combination of traits are assigned to Minions.

Version:
The version of this guide corresponds to the Build version of the MachiaVillian's title screen.

Mission Statement:
This guide is intentionally very bare-bones and lacks any advice on what traits are best with which minions. I strongly recommend reading a walk-through as soon as someone else bothers to write one.

Order of Traits:
The order in which traits are listed within each table is the same order the game uses to index the traits and to my knowledge has no deeper meaning.
Copyright and Permission to Copy

Author Intent:
Due to how the save files work I was able to pull out a lot of information about Traits and wanted to make the relevant information available to everyone, expecially other Guide and Walkthrough writers which is why translations and copying the tables are so permissive.

Translations:
Permission is granted to everyone to translate this guide to a non-English language.
I request any translation allow for copying the translated tables of traits just as this guide does below.
Linking back to this guide via a URL and unambiguously citing it as the translation's source is required.

Non-translations:
Permission is granted to everyone to copy the tables of traits (and only these tables) from this guide into their own work. Permission for information outside of the tables is NOT granted. However, just because I mentioned a detail does NOT mean you must omit it, it means use your own words. Both giving credit and linking back to this guide are NOT required.
Character Type Traits
These traits are only assigned to specific types of Minions, either when hiring or when created via a Zombie's skill.

For hired Minions (Skeletons & Zombies only) the Character Type Trait is always listed first.

For *Zombies created from Victims the Trait is always listed last.

Sunburns
Looses 1 point of life every 0.5 hours if not in a closed room. Can catch fire.
Vampire
Light decaying
Loses 15 points of life per day if life level is above 50% of maximum life.
*Zombie
Worm food
Loses 15 points of life per day if life level is above 20% of maximum life.
*Zombie
Made of bones
Gain 1 life per bone consumed. Loose 2 life per bone thrown.
Sleleton
Waits for his
second death
Looses 15 points of life per day until dying a second time.
*Zombie
Dieing from hunger
Will loose life points until death.
**Unknown

Notes:
* Hired Zombies do not have this trait. However, a Zombie can turn a Victim into another Zombie who will always have one of three traits depending on the level of the skill used.

L1: Waits for his second death
L2: Worm Food
L3: Light Decaying

** At this time it is not known if this trait is referenced during normal gameplay.
Primary Traits
These Traits are only primary in that they always appear before the secondary traits.
Exactly one of these 14 traits is choosen at random for each and every Minion.

Fire-proof
+100% Fire Resistance
Pyromanyac
+60% Fire Resistance
Raspoutine trainee
+70% Poison Resistance
Hard skin
+50% Bleed Resistance
Street Rat
+50% Poison Resistance, +40% Bleed Resistance
Intestinal fortitude
-20% Food consumed
Coffee maniac
-30% Sleep Time
Quick feet
+30% Walking speed
Energy bunny
+30% Maximum Stamina
Late for its death
+30% Maximum Life
Power walk
+30% Walking speed, +20% Food consumed
Fat is life
+30% Maximum Life, +20% Food consumed
Brain tumor
+2 Jobs
Offroad feet
Walking speed not affected by ground type.

Notes:
Some of these traits are objectivly better than others (i.e. +100% Fire Resistance is objectivly better than +60% Fire Resistance).

Raspoutine trainee is sometimes listed as +69% poison resistance. This is just speculation on my part, but this may be a rounding error because much of the game's data seems to use floating point numbers to store integer data.

Brain Tumor use to be named Brain excressence.
Secondary Traits
These Traits are only secondary in that they always appear after traits from the Primary Trait List.
Exactly one of these 4 traits is choosen at random for each and every Minion.

Easy-going nature
+5 Loyalty
Relaxed nature
+2 Loyalty
Stressed nature
-4 Loyalty
Smartass
-8 Loyalty, +2 Writing & Research Job levels.

Notes:
I could have easily called these Nature Traits or Loyalty Traits, but what would I have called the Primary Trait List then???

@firesidechat Absolutely. I think it's nice. It helped me understand all the traits. You can't decide what you want without knowing what's available. It will be especially helpful later on when the bugs are fixed, when we can do more in the game.

@Bhindi
Yeah, but this guide is more just documentation of traits rather than advice.

I just take a primary that I like, brain tumor is nice, faster walk speed, etc. I then take anything that doesn't remove loyalty. Other than job number or movement speed I ignore all the others.

@Antiga:
...Or you could just edit the save file right after starting. It is tricky though because the Secondary Traits appear to be 100% supericial as editing the MoodEventType of MOOD_TRAITS_EASY_GOING, MOOD_TRAITS_RELAXED, MOOD_TRAITS_STRESSED, and MOOD_TRAITS_SMART_ASS are what actually effects mood.

This game isn't Darkest Dungeon against the player, but other than your first 3 minions I think they seem to really want players to try and make due.

Thank you for the feedback.

The guide is fine. The traits themselfes are suck. Smartass is the only one that gives job levels. Several traits do the same, but with an extra debuff. With shuffling and save scumming you'll eventually always get a superior minion(Coffee maniac for room workers, walk speed for resource collectors, etc), but meanwhile it's a very frustrating little system with way too little thought put into it, and not nearly enough traits.
Thanks for taking the time to write this down.
