How to get controller support for Savage Lands
由 XDeadzX 制作
Because sometimes I like variety, I wanted to play Savage Lands with a controller away from my desk. The game doesn't have native controller support, but the game is on steam, so that means it has steam controller configuration support. Well... Now the game supports controllers.

Getting Started
Because sometimes I like variety, I wanted to play Savage Lands with a controller away from my desk. The game doesn't have native controller support, but the game is on steam, so that means it has steam controller configuration support. Well... There were none of those either. Until today! I've took the time to create a steam community configuration for Savage Lands using an Xbox controller. The layout should transition fine to a PS4 or Switch controller as well if you prefer those. Steam will do that automatically for you when you load the configuration, but it might require you to re-align the buttons if something goes wrong.
Enabling Custom Controller Configurations
To enable this for your respective controller, go into steam, settings:
Controller, General Controller Settings:
Then enable PS4, Xbox, or Switch Pro configuration support:
Utilizing My Configuration
Preview image of configuration:

To use it, paste this url into the address bar on a browser: steam://controllerconfig/307880/1386208388

Then click "Apply configuration" at the bottom of the window.

Next time you open the game, you should have a controller icon pop up in the bottom right of your game instead of the usual black popup you get.
Explaining the configuration
To shortly explain my configuration and it's unique tweaks: Double tap Y to open crafting, single tap Y to open inventory.
Tap X to open loot/use things, hold X to loot all/Use All

Tap back/share to open the journal, hold it (for 150ms) to activate the on-screen keyboard for typing in multiplayer.

Hold B to drop your current item, double tap B to hit esc/leave menu (also bound to Start, for redundancy.)

Everything else should be explained at a glance on the controller interface. Uses the default keybinds in-game to configure to.
