List elements of TW: TOB we can improve from modding
由 Thatweirdguy's Hero 制作
If you havent relised yet there is a fair mixed opinions towards this game as its totally understandable with majority of the playerbase coming from previous titles , suck as some features such as the new settlement and province management structure there are quite who dislike this mechanice. Here lets dicuss some issues and gameplay mechanics which will benifit greatly when the modding tools get release for TW: TOB. If you have anything you think can be changed through modding commend below and i add your suggestion to the list.

I took some points from " I'm a rat, Squeak Squeak " review as i think it address some of things i would suggest be improved on with mods in the future.

This is not debating if the game is good or not but just gameplay features that i think personally would be better or you to make the game play and feel less frustrating . I personally like the game a lot

1 . Province managements
The new mechanic to divide a province into one main settlement with minor resource settlement strcture is a creative appoach , we have seem this in past total war games such as Shogun and Empire , yet the problem of this in the game is the minor settlements are able to be occupied and provide the need for a faction to survive , there is no garrisons and its almost impossoble to defend these unless you recruit a general to raise an army . Its incredibly annoying to constantly march your armies back to retake it adding the fact it costs more to raise a new army for the job.

- Please for the sake to make the game better make garrison mod which can be upgraded to comprehend its defence .

2. Army recuitment
Yet i like this feature CA tried to imcoperate into the game it allows the player to get an glimps at how soilders reacted to the lords cry for warriors at many instances its awesome in the early game as you watch then replenish , later on you just wish there was an option to quickly recuit stacks of troops with no limitations to the amound you want to relieve the sige for eg. a city .There just need to be another alternative for this ...

- Add the options to hire merceneries or the options to recuit a unit at 25% for a lower price or 100% at higher price for a fully replenished unit . Its always better to you wait one turn queue for 100% or instantly but 25% .

3. Trade with factions
When i first hoped into the game i thought first to establish trade but where is the options ?? when the developers responed with it is done automatically when a declaration of friendship has been signed with the oppsing faction. To this sense it doesnt feel important or any impact on your economy , it provides so little income unless you control majority of the resources . For this trade should be placed an options for the player and not automatic . i believe this is the first total war to do so which hinders the idea of making money . its not big but i feel this is going to annoy many old total war players .

- Add an options or display an icon / message that trade has been established . The amount you get from trading is laughable so increasing the amount from trade will force players to consider the importance of capturing resourses .

4. Settlement customizations
Next up is the the new province system. The province system are another way that is too dumbed down as well, there are 2 aspect to this. In the building section of the new province system, every small town is no longer customizable, gone are the days in Rome 2 and Attila where you have to plan and strategize which town to upgrade and which facilities to build to manage your limited food supplies. In this game, a town produces what the developers have ''preset'' it produce, this sucks much fun out of the campaign and you merely need to focus on winning battles.

- Create a load of options to demolish and transform a province into what you want your kingdom to focus on

5. Public order System
The Public Order system. Ever since Rome 2 we had a Public Order system that ranged from -100 to 100, this has been changed. Public order is no longer cumulative and now has a negative and positive value in which negative Public Order would give a % that a rebellion will occur, this means you only need to pray to RNJesus that rebellion wont happen. (I had rebellion triggering on as low as 5% and it messed up my economy so quickly) On another note, I do not know if its to simulate Anglo-Saxons unhappiness with the Vikings but 20-30 turns in, rebellions will start popping up against the AI everywhere, and if they captures a town that produces food, the rebel units will spawn recruit even more rebels which the AI cant kill. I ended up fighting more rebels than other factions.

- New UI to display public order so you dont end up getting rebels the next turn without you knowing its coming
6. Food upkeep and supplies
In Thrones of Britannia, every unit need food upkeep. I praise the developer for this mechanism as this means that there is no longer a 20-unit doom stack for every 1-province minor factions. (Im sure every player hated this) However it made the game way too easy for me, I had a campaign where i merely need to capture the AI food production towns, the AI never raised another army for 15 turns as they did not have any food producing facilities and towns, there was nothing to do except to siege them one by one after destroying their standing army.

- It would be better to focus on the supplies aspect for armies instead of having food upkeep for units , remove or replace a better mechanic so that armies use up more food supplies with no upkeep

7. Unit variety
Yes yes i know people say that there isnt a lot and im sure radious mods will definelty release a unit pack the moment moddings tools is released .....
8 .Campaign battles
The biggest problem i have is that im not getting the AI to besige my settlements and when they do its normally them maintaining it and not engaing , havent had a defending battle yet there needs to be a more frequent mod for ais to want to lay seige to your cities . Normally this is addressed with AI besiging your minor settlements in past total wars but there is none so you either dont or rarely get it so you end up auto resolving majority of the battles . I dont see the need to recruit a navy unless im invading ireland

- This is maybe impossible for the modding community is that minor settlements get their own city for battles to take place at etc or AI programming

Other apects we can get deeper into
Updated in 2020 , by this time i seriously doubt creative assembly will return to address the numerous design choice void left from release hence i hope the developers take into account the points i listed above and below which would have created a better game .

- Technology research tweak
- Unit stances we need force march back
- New unit cards variety similar to Three kingdoms
- Gift and trade regions / Change capitals settings
- Freedom to convert building types
- Time frames for Viking invasion tweaks
- Deployables in defensive battles
- Recruit navies from ports
- More frequent sieges for ai
- More building choices for certain regions
- Ability to rename regions ( MODDED )
- Historical mode or battles variation for certain scenarios
- Better campaign map terrain variety
- Estates and loyalty needs to be reworked on rebalancing

I personally don't hate the game i enjoy it for what it is , above is just my thoughts and statements gathered from other reviews should highlights the main frustrations of the game .

If you have anything you dislike about the game just comment below or type up a paragraph and commend my name @Thatweirdguy's Hero, with your permission i add that to the list so we can help shape a better game !!.
