On behalf of Genosse Honecker, the Staatsrat of the German Democratif Republic, and the SED, it is our duty to provide our citizens with a set of informations and guidelines to reach the ultimate goal of socailism

Simply read all the letters that Uncle's is carrying in his suitcase

In each country, walk with your Uncle into the Motel room. He will get to bed, and, once he's asleep,
his suitcase will open, allowing you to read the letter inside. Repeat this for every country (GDR CSFR, HPR, SFRY, PRB, Turkey



Keeping your car in shape
When travelling into a State-Issued Laika automobile, you are carrying the image and the notoriety of our country. Is it you duty to keep your car clean and running to share the best image of the Republic.

  • Proud Owner

Clean your car 50 times

For this, you'll need your car to get dirty on the road. Then, simply use the bucket provided at every shop/gas station to clean your car. You must drop the sponge in the bucket every 3 strokes. Clean the mud for 50 strokes to get the achievements. Should be unlocked in your journey.
Maintaining the public safety
When operating a State-Issued Laika Automobile, your principal concern should be the security of you and your fellow Genossen. Make sure the safety equipments are working properly, any injuries or damages hapenning because of your lack of vigilance will have serious consequences for you and your family.

  • Hear Me Roar

Keep using the horn until it stops functionning

Click and hold on the horn (the Laika badge on your steering) for a few moments until it stops functionning. Achievement should pop immediatly.
Pay attention to your dashboard
State Issued Laika Automotives comes with a fully equiped dashboard, which will inform you of everything you need to know to take good care of your GDR spearhead

Run out of Fuel

This is pretty self explainatory. To do it easily, you buy the smallest tank availible and fuel it with only one unit of gasoline. Then either drive around the town until you run out of gas, or switch back your main tank in during your journey

It is strictly forbidden, under any circumstances, to take away items not of your belonging. Doing do is highly prohibited and will result in sever circumstances for you and your entourage.

Steal something

For this achievement, you'll need to experience the Karma.

You'll need to steal anything from the shop. Use your Laika to jam the gate at any shop/gas station, then help yourself with any item, and run to your car and leave with any unlawfuly aquired good. Upon returning home, you'll see that all your stored items will be replaced by a "Thief sign". As such,
you just experienced Karma.
Quality Products
Your state-issued Laika automobile is built from Duroplast, a tough material that will resist anything encounterable while operating the vehicle.

Drive your laika around

These achievements can be quite hard to earn. You'll need to drive your laika for respectively 10.000, 50.000, 100.000 and 999.999 kilometers. Progress can be tracked on the odometer in your speed dial.

As of 1.0 Build, flipping the car in order to maxe the odometer rise will away will not work, as the odometer will simply refuse to go up if you're not on the road.

There is however a method to easily max out your odometer

Equip your vehicle with the sturdiest part, then drive to Dresden. Approach the CSFR Border checkpoint, and you will be able to pass through the fence, falling into blue hell. Keep accelerating and you will see the odometer increasing rapidly. Once out of fuel, or your piece broken, go back to the garage and repeat.

Congratulations ! You've been cleared by the Staatsrat to travel inside our Shiny Socialist sphere ! Genosse Schabowski has granted all of GRDs Genossen the right to travel as they want outside the GDR borders. Please note that this isn't a freipass for abuses and excess which will be severely punished.

  • There and Back again

Drive from Berlin to Istanbul and return to Berlin in one session

This achievement can be tricky, due to the game's buggy nature and the time it will require.
You will need to go from your home in Berlin all the way to turkey, and return home in one session (No pauses, so you can't close the game. And if the game crashes, you'll need to start all over again).
Pick the shortest routes and bulk your car with gasoline, spare tires and other repairs kits.

Now that you're allowed to travel inside our Shiny Socialist Sphere, it is your duty as a citizen to support their economy and make Socialism Thrive

  • GDR - 300 DEM
  • CSFR - 350 DEM
  • Hungary - 400 DEM
  • Yugoslavia - 450 DEM
  • Bulgayria - 500 DEM
  • Turkey - 550 DEM

Sell for the required ammount of goods in each country

The description for this achievement is weird, and it can be tricky to understand. Howewer, you simply need to sell goods for the required amount in each country (Sell for 300DEM of stuff in GDR, sell for 350 DEM of stuff in CSFR, etc etc...)

Since the shops doesn't necesarilly have all that cash, and since you may not carry enough stuff that can be sold for such a price, i recommand to do it this way :

Prefer gas stations, as the cashier is right next to the door.

  • Park your car in reverse near the door.

  • Buy everything valuable in the shop (Carjack, crowbar, tires, repair kit, wine, and other goods that will sell for a good price. Be careful with tire, as they will clutter the cashier and there is a high risk of them not rolling down the window.) This will give you stuff to sell and feed the shop with more cash

  • Pay, collect everything and drop it in front of you

  • Then, just pick up the stuff you dropped and sell them to the cashier until you reach the required ammount. Use goods you got in your car to complete the ammount.

  • Then get paid. Achievement should unlock

The sell must be done in one transaction only ! There is no commulative effects whatsoever, so you must sell the for required ammount in one time !
Pay attention to the Regulations
During your time in our socialist brothers country, you may notice differents regulations regarding goods. It is important that you follow them without any second thoughts, as you will be held responsible for all your actions, and the Staatsrat can not and will not interfere with the prosecutions you will encounter

  • Bootlegger

Smuggle 6 bottles of wines

This achievement can be tricky to get, not because of the achievement itself, but to get the required circumstances to unlock it. You'll need to pass a border checkpoint with 6 bottle of wine in your car INTO A STATE WHICH PROHIBITS ALCOHOL. If Alcohol isn't forbidden, the achievement won't unlock as it will not be considered smuggling

I have a question about the achievement "There, and back again.". I have my car upgraded. Can I use this save to complete this achievement? If I click to go back home and do all the way to Turkey and get back do Germany, the achievement pop up? Is this possible or I need to create a new game?

If your having trouble getting any of the achievements , even if you did them properly you can "cheat" them in. https://github.com/gibbed/SteamAchievementManager

The only problem I found is that my odometer IS maxed out at 999999 but I did NOT get credit for "It's a Classic"

Edit to the Quality Products section. The "going thru the map" trick STILL WORKS. You just have to find a different place to do it. For me it was when I arrived in the first city in the CSFR. (The city that has a way to go down on either side and under the bridge in order to visit the Laika shop.) All I did was go to one of the downhill roads, and then immediately go straight off road for a few meters and I fell thru the map. I then proceeded to stick something in the accelerator key, and after only a few minutes I got the first 2. So I walked away and got something to eat, and the rest of the mileage achievements completed when I got back.

Ciggy Bumma I tryed what you said but I do not find the hole. If you can show me a video or a photo of wher the glitch is I woud really appreciate it.

I have a question. If I save the game while trying to get "There and back again" will the game consider I pause it ?

I haven't confirmed this yet, but if you're having issues with "There and back again", you can drive back and stay at the last hotel and try again, I think.

Found another way to get "It's a classic!" in the latest version.

Head into Dubrovnik and take the first left. Look to the left at the hill next to the building. That is where the glitch is. Stay at the hotel and then head to the hill, drive over the hill, right next to
the building and drive into the hole. Repeat as needed.

At a certain point, the odometer will stop incrementing while driving, but it's still updating behind the scenes, when you sleep at hotel for example. Make sure you don't hit 999,999 while falling super fast or it won't count. If you can stop just before 999,999 and then go over one more time, hitting 999,999 while falling slower, it'll still work.
