The absolute basics
When an ally is down there's a short period where you can walk up to someone and revive them by holding your interact button for like, 7 seconds. That's it
When not to revive
If someone has multiple lives left and you're at a part of the mission that involves moving quickly, just leave them.

Another time to not revive people is when theres a gazzilion guns pointed at you.
Be invisible
Now, I know what you're thinking, "this is warframe, there's always a gazillion guns pointed at me". Thabkfully theres three ways to solve this. The first and easiest is to be invisible. Loki, Ash, and Ivara can be invisible. A Huras Kubrow or shade sentinel can make any warframe invisible. Lastly, everyone who has completed the war within can use an invisible child for this trick.
Use an ability
The majority of warframes have abilities to stop people shooting at you, if you use one of those, you'll be fine
Just murder everyone
Lastly you can just kill all the enemies before reviving your allies.
This sounds completely obvious, but you'd be surprised by how often people forget they can do this.
One last thing.

I always use Valkyr for that. I turn on my 4 and the enemy doesn't seem to be able to hurt me anymore. Also it's always fun if you revive someone and there's a gazillion guns now pointed at him cause you're invulnerable.
