Introduction
The Workshop makes it very convenient to share maps in Kreedz Climbing, however there are some rules in place to protect the hard work of mappers - Please follow these rules carefully to avoid your work being taken down!

The number one thing to do if you have a dispute with a Workshop item is to use the report feature. Please do not make forum posts or attempt to contact developers directly - reporting is always the first and best option. Thank you!
Workshop Item Rules
Please make sure your Workshop item meets the following criteria before uploading:
  • The Workshop is currently only available for ingame maps (.bsp files). Other types of content, such as skins, are not supported at this time.
  • The level is entirely your own work, or you have written (and thus proveable) permission to post the level on behalf of the creator,
  • The resources used in the level (embedded) are your own work or you have written (and thus proveable) permission to post a level containing these resources.
  • The theme of the level (or content) is not considered highly offensive (for example representing Nazism or similar topics). The developers reserve the right to remove any content they deem offensive from the Workshop.
  • The preview images and description of the item are not intentionally hostile or otherwise offensive to community members.
  • The level uploaded actually matches the expected level from the description / previews. Although it might be humorous to upload a fake map, that is not the purpose of the Workshop and these items will be removed.
  • Please do not reupload levels that already exist on the Workshop. The original author has the right to request these be removed.
Can I upload ported maps from other games? (i.e. CS 1.6, CSS, CS:GO)
Map porting is a great way to get a level additional exposure over multiple games and isn't difficult to do!

However, as stated in the rules, items uploaded to the Workshop must be your own work or have permission from the original author. This means that if you take a map from a different game, convert it and upload it, the original creator has the right to request your work taken down if you didn't get permission to make the conversion.

Due to the difficulty in verifying permission like this, the best solution is always for the original author to make the conversion themselves, or at least upload the map themselves. If this isn't possible, try to get reliable proof of your permission from the creator.

Although the developers will do their best to be fair in instances of disputes, a conversion of a map falls into difficult territory when deciding who has ownership of the map. Please be aware of this if you decide to convert a map for someone else!
My map has been uploaded without permission / Converted without permission. What can I do?
As stated in prior sections, if your work has been uploaded to Kreedz Climbing's workshop (and thus claimed / distributed without your consent), please use the report feature to make the developers aware.

When reporting an item, please make sure you have some way to prove you are the original owner of the map. This proof may come as a prior upload on a different website, an upload in a different game's Workshop or forum releases or similar.

Please note that we cannot accept bsps or vmfs as literal proof of ownership of an item. If you privately release a map and someone publically uploads it, it will be very difficult for the developers to determine if you are the legitimate owner or not. To prevent fraudulent reports from getting legitimate work removed, the developers cannot assist you without concrete proof! It is not the developers responsibility to search the internet to validate your claims - prepare your case thoroughly before reporting!

If wrongdoing has been found, a compromise is always the best option, whether that be permission being granted for the item to remain, or it being reuploaded by the original author. If no compromise can be reached, you have the right to request the item be removed and the developers will do their best to assist you.
I've uploaded my level to the Workshop. Can someone fraduently request it be taken down?
The developers will never remove a Workshop item on the request of another user without concrete proof of wrongdoing.

As long as your level is your own original work and uses original assets, you have nothing to worry about!

Please note that multiple reports by multiple users may draw the attention of the developers to your item. For the best Workshop experience, please do not violate the aforementioned rules regarding item submissions!
I've created a map, but allowed my friend to upload it. Can I request it be taken down?
We strongly recommend you do not allow others to upload your work unless you are prepared for them to have a claim to it. Disputing ownership of an item is a difficult process for both users and developers, and as said in previous sections, if you cannot provide obvious and concrete proof, you probably won't be able to dispute it.

Please do not allow anyone to upload your work unless you're prepared to give up ownership of it to them!
Can I take legal action to protect my intellectual property?
The short answer to this is, we don't know. The Kreedz Climbing developers are not lawyers and we're not sure how intellectual property works when it comes to Kreedz Climbing maps.

Although you can of course do whatever you wish, we strongly recommend you report an item via normal Report channels for developer attention before taking DMCA / legal action.
Thank you for taking the time to read this!
The rules are in place to protect the users and content creators using the Workshop. Thank you for taking the time to read!

Please note that abuse of the Workshop (such as repeatedly uploading rulebreaking items), or abuse of the report feature may result in you being banned from the Workshop, or the community in general.

Always be courteous to others in your use of the Workshop. Thank you!
