Some of the achievements in this game aren't quite so obvious, and it's always handy having a nice straight-forward list on what to do. So here it is.

Introduction
There are a total of 72 achievements (AKA 'cheevos') in Death Road to Canada, of which three are secret, and, by my jurisdiction, 17 easy (24%), 14 (20%) medium and 7 hard(10%). 34/72 (47%) are character-based.

I've listed my opinions on how to get the achievements, but, since I haven't got them all myself yet, I'd appreciate it if you've personally got one of the harder/medium cheevos and can comment your own strategy or opinion on it. I'll be updating the guide whenever I notice new updates.

Secret achievements are labelled with THIS IS ONE OF THE THREE SECRET ACHIEVEMENTS, so you can find them when scrolling through. Character achievements requiring specific strategies have an * by their name, so ctrl + f if you're specifically looking to get that character on your travels.

Characters and Where to Find Them.
I recommend the Rare Characters gamemode for this section. All achievements below require game completion to be won, meaning you've got to reach Canada for them to apply.

Too Swole to Control
He's so strong.
Known in-game as T*L*B, this character is found during an event (in other words, randomly- you might find him on the road and have the option to recruit him). He has strength almost ten times the max of a normal character. He can be hard to work with, since he is obsessed by his own strength, and will not use weapons. But he isn't too difficult to use for the entire gameplay if found early, beyond requiring other characters to transport weapons back and forth to the car.

Coup De Grace
Parry and Riposte!.
The Fencer is found in an event. She has a rapier that cannot be removed. It pierces multiple zombies at once. She is a very powerful character, and focusing maximising HER strength stats is worth it. She isn't difficult to win with, provided she has support.

Mr. Popular
...the friendliest guy there is.
Mason (???) is challenging to win with because, if the team loses morale, he will cause another member to 'vanish'. He can also occasionally kill just whilst camping. On the bright side, if Mason dies, he will respawn a day later (provided the whole team isn't dead), his fightness/strength stats are high, and his weapons are decent, although unchangeable. Since he is found based on a random event, there's no element of choice as to whether you find him earlier on or later, but it is preferable to find him when the team has high morale, and many members to support his murderous desires.

Merry Christmas
...a real Christmas miracle.
Unfortunately, this particular achievement can only be got during the 24th-25th time of December. He has good mechanic skills, and two alternate forms: naughty or nice. If told to p*ss off, he will become naughty, and grant 50 fuel as opposed to 5 food. He is similar to Mason in that morale deeply affects whether he stays or goes, and he will replace other members of the party (in other words, kill them) in form if his morale is too low.
[PS: this achievement CAN be got if you change the date to the 25th on your computer.]

Thankyaverymuch
...the Crooner of the Zombocalypse
Found in a rare event, Alvis ALSO is affected by morale. He comes equipped with karate skills, and high fightness, along with the ability to utilise all three weapon slots. Thankfully, low morale simply means his appearance changes to that of fat Alvis, so you've got two chances if your team's morale gets too low. He's a decent character either way, with much less difficulty than other members of the party.

Luchadore
Win with El Satan's patented wrestling moves..
El Satan is an event-found character with high strength and fitness. He cannot use firearms or other ranged weapons, but he can pick zombies up and throw them. It's recommended to combine him with characters who can use firearms, because multiple characters who can't is a disadvantage. Otherwise, he's a powerful character.

World Champ
Stick and move!
Acquired via a random event, the Contender has high strength and fitness, but is unable to use weapons. She has high health with different fighting techniques in her repertoire. Her lack of ability to carry weapons can be hard, so it's best to combine her with a variety of characters.

HA! HA!
*distorted honk*
The Clown is found randomly- he has poor personality stats, which can make him hard to survive with. He will leave with a musical bang if his morale reaches minimal levels- this musical bang causes a very difficult seige, so it's recommended that his morale is kept high. In the final siege of the game, his presence will spawn zombie clowns, which leads to another achievement. This one, HA! HA! is relatively simple to get. Whilst the Clown has no particularly special abilities, he isn't dangerous either.

Valhalla
This should be an easy one..
Valkyrie is one of the most loved characters by the community, primarily due to her high strength and fitness stats, and her hammer which causes explosions on contact. She has few disadvantages, bar that she will kick out a random member of the group if that group is full and she wants to join. She is found in a random event. Bear in mind that it's easy to lose her hammer in the hoards of zombies in seige moments.

Happy Thanksgiving
Tip: Do not eat it.
Nonsurprsingly, this can only be achieved at Thanksgiving. (As with Merry Christmas, you can change the actual date to get this.) On low morale, this bird ends up pecking another member of the team, resulting in the choice of kicking out the character he's pecked, or killing him. His stats are randomised, so how easy he is to win with depends on luck.

My Lovely Horse
You're a pony no more.
Horse is a randomly found and very hard character to win with. He has only one inventory slot, he cannot use melee weapons, and his strength is bear-nut low. However, he has high fitness and is the fastest character in the game.

Gnome Power
...the most OP character. S++ on the Official Tier List.
Gnomey is a fast, low-health (he has 1HP and cannot gain anymore), with poor strength stats and high medical.

The Last Panda *
Maybe Canada will be a good habitat.
Panda is found through the suburbs (the open spaced housing estates), yet must be coaxed by charm, health or food to be acquired, so prepare up, possibly having a charming character on board, if you're looking for Panda. She is very strong and fit.

HL3 *
Any resemblance to another character is coincidental..
Gordo's objectively a jackpot find. He is one point from max in strength, fitness, shooting and mechinical stats. He has 4HP, and a non-permanant crowbar, along with a Shotgun and pistol. He's neutral in personality stats, and has no special abilities which can cause him to go wild like other characters. Keep an eye out in the suburbs, select Rare Characters as usual and this achievement is yours.

Witch's Brew *
Magic hat, magic broom, magic uzi.
The Witch is found at trading camps. She takes up a lot of space, and can quite easily be seen. On interaction, she will offer to sell you her cat, or herself for 20 food. There's also the option to tell her to 'Cool it', if your character has the requirement. Don't do this. She will turn the character into a skeleton, useful for another achievement, but it's better to prioritise getting this one first, as the Witch is a sturdy member.

She has high medical, and a 'magical' uzi and witch's broom, which are unbreakable, and a claw as her empty slot.

More Characters and Where to Find Them.
Abracadabra *
It is your destiny..
Also found at trader camps, the Wiz offers other services, but to secure him, you must pay 20 food. He has maximum wit and the Wizzle Stick, an extremely powerful long-range weapon. Make sure you stock up on food.

Bwaugh! *
Win with the original hot Vampire, not those newfangled sparkling ones
The Count is found in the Spooky Graveyard, a rare location with the mission of digging up a goblin. In an even more rare occasion, Dinkula will emerge from the Mausoleum. He has high fitness, and an empty slot of a claw. His primary ability is that he turns into a bat when harmed (for 7 seconds). This means he's a good character to main as because you can escape from zombie damage. Depending on how you look at it, Count Dinkula can be played solo, or with a group to prevent him from becoming the bat, where he can't deal damage.

G*rfening
Every day... is a Monday.
Garfielf is found randomly in an event. He has randomised stats apart from attitude, which is low. At low morale, he causes a 2-hour seige to errupt, in darkness, after which he will stay. This means he is an especially hard character to win with, as his morale has a cap (due to his low attitude) and yet he causes seiges whenever it drops to a critical level. Focus on morale-boosting events, and get some other high-strength characters on your team to defend him if his stats come low.

DA NA NA NAA
The censored vowel changes every game.
'L*nk's' name is randomised per game, and, likewise, he is found randomly, through an event. He has medium strength and high fitness. He has only two slots, one of which is taken up by a wooden sword. He eventually finds, in various chests, a new sword (from wooden, to white, to master), a boomerang (wooden to metal) which preferably takes up his second slot, and a sack of bombs/ a heart piece. On low morale, he lashes out against the team to get his own morale back up. This can be hard to deal with, however, the good weapons (anyone can use the boomerangs, but be careful of losing them) and decent stats make him a lucky catch.

Cat Fancy *
Who knew hoarding cats would be this useful?
The Cat Lady can be a tough character to keep on side. She's found at trading camps, costing 20 food, and sometimes taking extra whilst in the group to sustain her cat population. She has a randomly-spawned cat by her side during scavenging missions/seiges, and a claw attack. Although food-heavy, the Cat Lady will boost party morale (at the cost of more food) by unleashing kittens. This makes her useful in combination with characters whose low morale is costly, such as ???.

Zombie Fashion
I guess she does kind of look like Mary Poppins
The Debutante is found randomly in an event- she has mediocre fitness and poor strength, and an unbreakable/unremovable umbrella. She is a midway character with no particular strengths or weaknesses, and thus is practical and good filler.

Sumo Solution
Sumo is the ultimate anti-zombie martial art.
Of both high strength and fitness, the Sumo Wrestler is found randomly, with 'sumo' in all three of his slots, which gives high knockback.

Fae Folk *
Make a wish for friendship.
The so-called Fairy Queen is located in the suburbs just as Gordon and the Panda is. She has high stats in strength, fitness (maximum), shooting and medical. On encountering her, she will offer a wish of health, wealth or true friendship. Choose true friendship and she will join the group, however, wealth also grants 20 food, and health grants 2 vitality, which is beneficial for future encounters. This achievement is particularly biting because she is better used for her wishes- her character, otherwise, is decent, with no penalities or worrying qualities beyond low loyalty.

Derby Champ
She's well trained for the zombocalypse.
The Roller Derby Girl is found in an event. She has low composure, yet high strength and fitness, and a higher walking speed. She's found with two weapons, a wrench and a bat, so she's always a handy character to have.

Grizzled Hermit *
Win with the Hermit after coaxing him out of his Hermit Hut.
The Hermit is found in his cabin, which is a seige event where you must defend him. Once this is done, and he lives, a charming character must be recruiting. With this in mind, to get the Hermit, try to spawn with at least one character with that perk. Additionally, a character with enough 'cool it' points will be able to recruit him along with getting ammo in return.

He is found with a shotgun and a fire axe, along with one point higher of vitality. This means he is useful for tanking, despite the challenge of recruiting him.

CAAAAAARL! *
Carl! Caaaaarl!.
R#ck is found in the Suburbs. He has high shooting and strength, and, although starting with medium fitness, can go 2 points over the average. He's found with a Dolt pistol.

Caveman Crush *
Win a game with the caveman after breaking her out of the ice.
The Caveman is found in Frozen Friend location sequence, where she's stuck in a block of ice. The character must then shoot, melee or burn her out. This takes about 30 seconds full-pelt, so having a buddy also is required to keep the zombies away. She has high strength and fitness, and a unique weapon which can't be removed or broken. On the other side, she can't use firearms, so her usefulness is somewhat restricted.

Goatal Victory
Win the game with a goat. It's going to ruin the car.
The Goat is found in trading camps. If the team is too full, it will refuse to join, so, if on meeting it, there's no space, you'll have to blow up one of your characters. Once recruited (which requires someone with good composure) the goat is seen to have a 'goat butt' attack (stronger than other animal attacks) and one point higher in vitality. Because of this, Goat is easier to win with than other animals, but cannot continue by itself, so another member must always be kept alive.

SOME PIG
Win with some pig in the team..
The Pig is occasionally found at the Farm in a rescue event, along with the Chicken. It, like the Goat, has a 'butt' attack which deals knockback, and lower dexterity (which usually lowers walking speed), but a hopping gait. It cannot drive to Canada by itself, so, again, another character is needed.

Even More Characters and Where to Find Them
Scientific *
Win with the bunker laboratory scientist.
The Scientist is found in trading camps (the Hidden Laboratory) or through a random event. If found at a trading camp, the team has to fork out 20 food for her to join, but she comes with a solar pistol and Teleporter. Both are fired with energy, but this energy restores after each map. She comes with high mechanic and wits, but, strangely, low shooting- so she can't use her own pistol very well. She is simple to win with if her skills are utilised, being a useful asset and a good one for you to control, as the Teleporter means you can escape from tough situations. However, the team doesn't TP with her, so it's a last minute strategy in dire situations.

Song of Zombo *
Win with the Renaissance Faire bard recruit.
The Bard is found in a specific trading camp called the Ye Olden Renaissance Faire Trader Camp. She's recruited with 5 food, and comes with a Lute and two other spare slots. The Lute is a melee weapon with long range (like an axe). She has high wits and attitude and no special abilities, meaning that she's not an overly useful character to have in a team, but one that's got no Achilles' heel. Due to the rarity of the camp, and its newness, prioritising her survival over other characters' is a good move.

Cannonball *
Win the game with the Pirate Captain rare trader camp recruit.
The Captain, as the description states, is found at trading camps. She'll join the party for 20 food (but she also sells a cannon for five food, which, once bought, lowers her recruitment price to 15). She has high strength and fitness, but, due to her peg leg, her dexterity is lower, so she walks at a slower pace. She has a cutlass and a cannon which can't be dropped or broken. Because of these weapons, the Captain is a nice character to have on board.

America Day
Win the game with Uncle Sam or Muscle Eagle.
This achievement is only possible on the exact date of the 4th of July. As with Canada Day, the Steam calendar can be changed to fill the requirement. He has only 1 HP, so he dies easily, making him a difficult character to win with. The Muscle Eagle is his special ability- like Count Dinkula, he has the Phoenix abilty of resurrecting himself after death, except he becomes the Muscle Eagle, which is a bird-headed muscular man with full HP. Sometimes it might be better to purposefully kill Uncle Sam and replace him with Muscle Eagle, same in all respects except appearance and vitality, as, if Sam's swarmed, he won't be able to escape in his eagle form.

Canada Day
Win the game with the holiday beaver in the team.
The holiday beaver is found similarly to the Muscle Eagle, and that is by changing the date to (or reading this article) the 1st of July. He is somewhat hard to keep alive, in the same manner as cats/dogs are (he can only attack with his paws, due to his beaver nature).

Easy(ier)
Patch Me Up:
Heal teammates 75 times.
This does not take as long as it may seem. I would expect this within the first 15 hours. Do not bother forcing yourself to get this (such as getting yourself injured for no reason), although training and having a medical character is always handy, especially within your first few hours in the game.

First Trip to Canada
Win Death Road Normal Mode.
It may take a few gameplays to get this for the first time, but it's ultimately the aim of the game to begin with. Always try to get your team up to four characters by day 13, stock up on food for trading purposes at the last trading centres (pipe bombs and other explosive weaponary is incredibly useful for the swarms later on in the game). Focus on getting strength/fitness up.

Are We There Yet?
Beat the game mode Long Winding Road Mode for the first time.
This is one of the easiest to get, because it takes 25 days to get to Canada rather than 15. The time which your characters have to level up their skills and weapons makes up for the ramping difficulty. If you've managed Normal Mode, this should be the next stop if you're looking to get achievements.

Little Vacation
Beat the game mode Short Trip to Heck Mode for the first time.
Reducing the 15-day long trip to Canada to 8 days means that, although the difficulty isn't necessarily increased, it does get harder faster as the normal gamemode gets more challenging during the later days, and there's less time for preperation. To beat this, stockpile ammo in the short time you can, get as much food as possible, to trade with later, recruit whomever you see (if full-teaming is a strategy you follow) and speedrun through scavenging maps.

Buncha Weirdos
Beat the game mode Rare Characters Mode for the first time.
The Rare Characters Mode is a necessity when it comes to getting other achievements in the game. It's supposed to make the game slightly easier since many of the rarer characters come equipped with special weapons and high stats.

Help From My Pals
Beat the game mode Familiar Characters Mode for the first time.
The easiness of this gamemode depends entirely on how competent your family and friends are.

Magical Wishing Toilet
Open 100 toilets, revealing the toilet genie.
Although slightly irritating to get, the genie does offer three different routes of diologue, only one of which will grant a positive event, which is 'immortality'. In reality, this is just an increased vitality stat and a difference in appearance (it becomes more stony). However, it's still an advantage.
To make this one easier, consider buying purchases at Zombo Town with Unomey, a trader unlocked when interacting with a Roaming Rodent (which is a randomised event- go back enough and he will appear just next to the main building). He will offer minor toilet-based increases, such as 1 fuel granted to 2 fuel granted, in return for zombo points. This increases the motivation to check every single ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you find.

[Note: for the following 'training' achievements, I would expect 20-30hrs to be the gametime you have when these are got, assuming you take a casual approach.]

Car Repair
Train Mechanical 50 times.
Although harder than 'Patch Me Up' in the sense that it doesn't happen automatically, Car Repair can be made less challenging by utilising certain dialogue paths. Many trading camps will have mechanical experts, so having a charming character on your team will potentially make this service free. When there's high moral after a swarm event, choose mechanical if it comes up. If, at the campfire, the diologue appears to 'share knowledge', share the mechanical wits of your most learned player. Repairing cars also works, of course, along with books found in bookshops, and Drobnus Kart.

Human Repair
Train Medical 50 times.
This one can be more of a pain than the others, because bettering mechanic/strength is more attractive to a player than medicine, if one character is already trained. To get this one, I'd recommend taking it easy. Don't force yourself to train if you don't want to, but getting a character on full medical is always useful, as they'll heal characters without using medicine. Dr Drobnus Deluxe, in a GameBronus Entertainment scenario, will boost this.

Target Practice
Train Shooting 75 times.
Shooting is slightly easier than the other training exercises because of the specific, common shooting-based event where the character can choose to shoot cans whilst camping in a farm. This lowers morale and reduces ammo, but increases everyone in the party's skill. Shooting is a generally useful to increase because ammo wastage is a poor idea when bandits can be harsh in their demands. Magazines, arcade machines, Drobnus Squadron, traders and other events increase this too (e.g. rescue events).

Getting in Shape
Train Fitness 75 times.
High fitness means a character will take a shorter amount of time to get tired when using weapons. Consequently, it's prioritised as a skill to maximise for larger crowds of zombies. It can be increased by magazines, traders, machines in the gym, and other events (e.g climbing a tree).

Gotta Get Huge
Train Strength 100 times.
Strength determins how quickly/painfully a charater uses a weapon, along with what furniture they can carry. Strength is increased by magazines, machines in the gym, traders and other events (e.g kissing a Shy Ghost).

Ramming Speed
Reach the final area with a working car..
With a car, the final area is much easier. It crashes into the barricade, causing the thickest clump of zombies on the map to be damaged and fall down. This achievement is usually got after a few rounds, providing a character has a somewhat decent mechanical ability, or if you've recently got a car by the time Canada is near-by.

Easy(ier) II
Gallant Knight
Knight left the team alive.
The Knight is recruited in a random event. She says that she'll help the team in one battle (one scavenging mission or siege) in turn for them driving her. She has high strength and fitness, and 3 points extra vitality. This achievement is won when the one map/seige is over. Since the Knight is so powerful a character, this is done with ease.

Berserker
Beat any game mode with a custom character with the BERSERK! trait.
A Berserker character starts with 4 points to strenght, fitness and shooting, but low personality stats and one point vitality (one HP). Generally, with support in the form of user control and team members, a character with this perk/disease can survive, but the Big Bruiser trait, which increases the HP by one so the character's at 1/2 health rather than 1/4 can help also.

No One Left Behind
Win with no ally deaths. This includes traders and mall cops.
Despite being an ostensibly difficult achievement, 6.7% of Death Road to Canada owners have got this achievement, making it the 11th most got.
To follow in their paths, bear in mind the 'trader and mall cops' aspect. Traders can die in a specific camp where the buildings are on fire and there aren't any walls preventing zombie intervention. There's usually only one character on this lot, so it's best to check their goods, kill zombies near-by and escape before they burn.
Mall cops are found in difficult seiges. There's two of them. Upon entering the seige, talk to both and get them together with your crew. Keep on moving, using weapons if you have them, or the zombies will quickly swarm one of your team members, or the cops. The cops themselves are very forward, and are wont to get themselves swarmed, so keep an eye on each of them.
As much as ally deaths are banned to get this achievement, you can still switch members and recruit different ones, so, if a character is low on health, and you're low on medicine, trading food for a new member is recommended. Play it safe, and don't recruit characters with crippled vitality.

No Jerk Left Behind
Win with a full team of 4 people/dogs/beings.
Even more people have this achievement than No One Left Behind, with 10.8% having got it, making it the 3rd most got. Most-likely, this is due to the fact that getting four players is a desirable ideal, especially as a starter player, and, with achievements like Dog Squad, it's necessary to have 4.
Where this is testing is in the Final Seige, wherein I recommend, as usual, to stay inside one building, preferably with ammo depositories (although it should be the first building you find, so as to avoid spawning more zombies), and camping in there, with the team strategy mode set to fighting. Any zombies falling through the ceiling/milking past the door will be immediately killed, and none of your four characters are at risk of being singled out. For the final stage, the run to Canada, have a car, set the mode to running, and keep to the outskirts.

Medium(eh)
Extreme Weirdos
Beat the game mode Rare Characters EXTREME Mode for the first time.
With the zombies ramped up to 160% of their original amount, this can be difficult if you don't play cautiously. Unlike normal Rare Characters mode, Rare Characters Extreme is not the best for getting achievements. Characters like the Horse and other LESS efficient characters will weigh you down. Get the best, stock up ammo, go for the best weapons

Bonds of Steel
Beat the game mode Familiar Characters EXTREME Mode for the first time.
Make your family and friends competent.

The Kepaning
Beat the game mode K*E*P*A Mode for the first time.
To unlock K*E*P*A MODE, all the previous nine gamemodes must've been completed also. This includes the EXTREME modes, and K*E*P*A MODE is in and of itself extreme, with more zombies, bandits and aggression. To complete it, the player must utilise all of their previous knowledge from the game, meaning the gathering of good weapons, priority of strength/fitness skills, the dismissal of weak characters (eg animals/skeletons) and prudence.

Five Game Streak
Win five games in a row without losing..
Once you get the knack of the game, a five-streaker isn't overly hard. Try to keep your team as large as possible, and always prepare yourselves for the two final seiges. The challenging part of this is if you're simultaneously trying to get other achievements which require risks. On the final screen, after a win, it will tell you your streak at the time. If it's above three, consider doing the Short Trip to Heck gamemode twice more.

Cooling it
A miracle happened that day...
'Cool it' is an option by irritating characters (or low attitude ones- but 'irritating' is a trait which can be selected by hand) to say in various situations, primarily bandit raids and other events. Often, the effect is one of increased venom, leading to more losses in a bandit raid and poor results in other scenarios. However, there's a hidden cool-it point system wherein, if a character uses it enough, they receive the option to henceforth use 'COOL IT!!!', a much more useful tool. Although this one may happen naturally quite early on, out of amusment, if you've been deterred from using Cool it due to its apparent uselessness, just spawn a custom irritating character and fire away.

Free Chicken
May have turned it into nugs later.
The Chicken is found at the Farm. It's an unrecruitable character, yet one that can grant the option to cook it (for food) or set it free (for morale). Once found, it'll follow the character without dialogue. Eggs will be in the vicinity which the character can pick up and use to spawn temporary chickens once thrown. This one is of medium difficukty because the event is rare, and the barn where the Chicken is kept can be crowded.

Paranormal
Proved the existence of spooky ghosts.
Much harder than the Free Chicken in nature due to the difficulty of the Haunted Mansion location (the character must use a torch, or they won't be able to see a thing, and there are many zombies) and how the ghost is in a randomised part of the house. The ghosts, in appearance, glows, so it's easily found, and similar to Big Boo from Mario. Only one spawns per map, but there are four to get: the Shy Ghost, the Nice Teeth Ghost, the Annoying Ghost and the Sassy Ghost. It doesn't matter what's said to get the achievement, but each has their own dialogue paths with varying results.
The character can talk to The Shy Ghost about its shyness, increasing their morale by one, or kiss it, which will cause the Ghost to explode and increase the fitness/strength of the character.
The Nice Teeth Ghost has the dialogue option of asking about its teeth. This increases the character's vitality, yet with short-term damage lost for it.
The Annoying Ghost is based around Cool It points. If high, answering 'Cool It!!!' will give the character who says it (and it can be anyone) a 3+ morale boost and a reward, whereas, if it's low, a small morale boost is given.
The Sassy Ghost can be asked about its flexing, giving the character one strenght point, or asked about its sassiness, reducing one morale.

I Hate Skeletons
Win with a skeleton. Internal skeletons don't count.
'Beat any game mode with any character with an exposed skeleton, including a WYK-TV skeleton, Sir Boney, a skeleton head from the Head Swap Doctor, or a skeleton body by telling the Witch to cool it.'
As stated, to get a skeleton form, the team must interact with the Head Swap Doctor, who offers to switch the head of the character for three randomly generated other heads, or to tell the Witch to cool it (which needs a low attitude/irritating character). Both characters are seen in trading camps. Sir Boney is also found there, whereas the WYK-TV Skeletons are found in the suburbs, in a building labelled 'W*Y*K Station'. Characters with the phonix characteristic can also be used(this is unlocked by Zombo Points) as they reanimate as skeletons- this way you can suicide during the last wave and come back as a skeleton.

NICE ONE, HOSER
In the last moment, killed your chance of victory.
The Prime Minister is able to be killed with various weapons. Doing this at the last step to victory is a purposefuly keyboard-knawing move. Firstly, and the easiest, is Molotov cocktails. This is easiest because, even if you don't find any before the last day, they can be purchased at the final trading camp, or found at the 4 hour seige. The Prime Minister will burn to death if the cocktail hits him directly. Likewise, a Blowtorch/Flamethrower can be used also, and the fire will burn him, which are also found in trading camps, if you're lucky.

A rarer, yet simpler way of killing the Prime Minister is to recruit the Mad Scientist, also needed for an achievement. She has a Teleporter that, through transferal powers, will kill the Prime Minister if used in his direction. Bear in mind, however, that the Teleporter has a limited amount of uses per map (it refreshes inbetween), so don't be liberal in teleporting to the end of the map to kill him, or you'll run out of charges.

Anime Syndrome
Anime Girl anime'd the car.
Anime Girl can either be recruited or converted. She's recruited either through a random event, or by spawning with a character with the Anime Fan perk. The Anime Fan trait is purchased using Zombo Points in Zombo Town. It warns the getting full morale, after which, the Anime Fan character becomes an Anime Girl.

The Anime Girl herself is a mutated character who slowly rots by the days, becoming more and more deformed in appearance, starting with small eyes, and growing to have massively deformed 'cute' ones, which swallow her entire face. The final stage of this is where she will explode under her own mutation. If she explodes in the car, you'll get this achievement at the cost of the car's wellbeing along with the team's. However, she can explode on a map, randomly, so, when scavenging, make her rest in the car instead of going with the team.
Medium(eh) II
Cat Attack
Win the game with a feral cat in the team.
Cats are stronger than dogs in their primary attack (their fierce claws), but they have the damaging habit of killing or harming another member of the party if on low morale, and they also can't drive themselves to Canada as dogs can.

The Cat Lady, a trader-purchased cat-owner, DOES NOT count towards this achievement, if she survives through to Canada, as her cats aren't feral. However, the Witch's black cat, whom she sells for 13 food, does, and so do cats found in random recruitment events. To survive the game with a feral cat, keep food high as possible, have a mechanic on the team if possible, and avoid large crowds of zombies as smaller characters are more likely to be swarmed.

Could Be Worse
Beat the game mode Deadlier Road Mode for the first time.
Zombies are 30% more aggressive, and more plentiful. Bandits are more plentiful too, and harsher. To combat this, keep medical supplies high because you won't want to give up unnecessary supplies, consider having an irritating character, and build up their 'Cool it!' points to get the 'Cool it!!!' option.

Day of the Circus
Just like in my clown nightmares.
Read my notes on the achievement 'HA HA!' for information about the Clown. The key information is that he's found randomly, and the achievement is given to the player if they survive with the Clown until the Final Siege (the City of Crushed Hopes). The achievement is given because the Clown, if alive, spawns special zombie clowns for the whole 4 hours rather than the standard munchers.

Hard(est)
Dog Squad
Beat any game mode with a party of four dogs

This achievement is challenging, and requires a steady mix of luck and sheer determination.
The first step: getting an all-dog team. Believe me- this is not the hardest step, but don't be deterred from doing this achievement, because it can be done, and it simply takes stamina. But to get your all-dog team, here are some tips: RARE CHARACTERS MODE. You are looking for a very specific character: Woof. He is three dogs under a trench coat, pretending to be a human. When he dies, during a scavenge or a seige, his death animation occurs, and the three dogs underneath are freed. In this scenario, then, you have three dogs. To get the forth, even more luck is required. Friend of dog as a character trait, trader camps and visiting scavenging sites with 'BARK banners' will get you there.

Once this team has been acquired, you might want to copy the save by going to USERS/[Name]/appdata/roaming/.madgarden/DR2C , where it will be labelled as [number].save. Also, if one of the dogs ever dies during a mission, you can alt + f4 and it will return you to before the mission occurred.

The most difficult part of this achievement, I thought, was the final seige, which is generally rather challenging with all humans. If you have a SUPERDOG on your team (which is what a lone dog becomes if all of his team dies- if you get a single dog before Woof, I reccommend killing the rest of the team so he becomes this), he will be able to use melee weapons and firearms. In the seige, one technique is to find a building and hide in it from the minute you spawn in. Set the team to fighting mode, rather than defence or running, and hide in a corner. Because the dogs aren't using guns etc, and are quieter, the zombies are less likely to enter.

A building like this is perfect because not many zombies will spawn through the ceiling, and your team can kill any that come inside.

At the final border to Canada, prioritise getting a car to crash through the initial horde. Set your team mode to run, and stick to the edges of the map. Use the Canadians as meatshields and your dogs won't take any damage.

The Loneliest Road
Beat any game mode with the same one character. You must start with only one character, you cannot recruit more, and must reach Canada.
This one is not as difficult as it sounds, although it can be threatening and will require a hardy mix of common sense and willpower. First off, I'd recommend the Short Trip to Heck gamemode, which reduces the amount of time to get to Canada to 7 days. In theory, this makes the days you do have harder. But the benefit of one character is that your food is less precious: you need 14 units to reach Canada without losing morale. Even if you include bandit disturbances and trader camps, there are occasions where the solo character can leave a scene when it gets too tough.

As for the qualities of your character, Practical as a trait and Athlete as a perk is a strong one to begin with, although medicinal/medical perks are as viable, especially medicinal, because each HP matters. Another, riskier, option is Big Bruiser and Beserker: these two almost cancel out the health benefits, and, combined, form a physically present ally. The perk T*S*T*C works particularly well with the gamemode Short Trip to Hell (as it starts the character off with full strength, and the potential to train it 6 points higher) and the Civilised trait is one of the more useful in the game for any situation (it raises the personality stats and adds 3 points to medical/mechanical skills).

As for general game strategy, never be afraid to flee a location when crowds form, prioritise medicine when looting, take car of your car (because car-recruiting events can be hard) and try to speed run the earlier days. Nightime is dangerous. In seiges, keep on the move. The final seiges on the last day are arguably the hardest part of this achievement. The first one, lasting 1 1/2 hour is best done inside, with a power weapon like a shotgun being used along with a powerful melee. The second seige, which can usually be done with ease by staying inside of a building, is not designed for a solo character, or at least not a stationary one. Keep on moving, try to get the zombies in one continous crowd behind you, keep finding ammo and shooting into the crowd, keep to the outskirts, avoid buildings if possible.

Don't Let Me Die
Beat the K*E*P*A game mode with Kepa.
This is challenging because it requires multiple steps. Primarily, unlocking K*E*P*A MODE requires having finished all other modes at least once. In other words, you must've completed all nine modes. Once done, K*E*P*A MODE faces the player with difficulty, spawning more zombies, making them more aggressive and causing the bandits to be harsher.

However, you do spawn with Kepa ( and the usual character and their buddy which you choose in the first two screens) so the element of random luck is removed (beyond survival luck). Kepa spawns with high strength and shooting, medium fitness, and pit-bottom personality stats. The challenge with Kepa is his vitality is one; he dies at one hit. Consequently, you might choose to keep him resting in the car to avoid his death, use other characters as body shields, give him the best weapons in your team, and control his character so you can get him out of trouble.

Mode Master
Beat the first ten game modes, From Death Road Normal Mode to K*E*P*A MODE.
THIS IS ONE OF THE THREE SECRET ACHIEVEMENTS. See the previous achievement as to how to get K*E*P*A MODE, and the guides on the other nine as to strategies. Overall, this will happen naturally as long as you continue to experiment with the gamemodes. If you're unsure which ones you have and haven't played, selecting the gamemode will show you how many times you've played it.

Omega Streak
Beat each of the first ten game modes in a row without a single game over, quitting during a level, or killing the Prime Minister
As with Five Game Streak, and as long as you get that achievement, keep on working to get this one, keep your team as full as you can to compensate for medical injuries, and be careful in the dark. I would try and do this one last off because it's unlikely that you'll get it naturally just by playing, and some of the gamemodes, like the EXTREME ones, will interupt the achievement and ruin your progress.

If you're finding Omega Streak too hard, exiting the game whenever you're close to death (this is cheating, but nevertheless) will keep you alive.

Zombillion
Splat 100,000 zombies!
Mercifully, this achievement counts death across all playthroughs, but, with a 1000-3000 zombie death rate per average game, depending on play style, it'll require grinding to get unless you plan on spending multiple hours on the game. (About 34 separate saves as an estimated minimum). To increase the speed, use Chainsaws during sieges, and, when sieges end, clear up the remaining zombies. Craft pipe bombs when you can. Turrets purchased at Trading Camps can be set outside, in the suburbs, to camp more excess kills.

Hard(est) II
Has Left The Building
Goodbye, Alvis
THIS IS ONE OF THE THREE SECRET ACHIEVEMENTS. To get it, Alvis must be recruited, and, since he's found by a random event, Rare Characters mode eases this process. Once recruited, his morale has to drop low enough for an Alvis-only event to occur where, accurate to his history, he will suddenly change in appearance to a fatter version of his previous self. If this happens once again, and his morale drops, the team witnesses him entering a toilet, only to never leave, and they leave without him.
Many random events cause low morale, often to one selected character, sometimes to one random character, sometimes to the whole group. Chances are that enough one-selected-character events will occur for Alvis to have his morale crippled, but, if you recruit him later on in the game, or you're cautious about missing a rare oppurtunity, recruiting more characters to get a full team, thus draining the food quicker, or purposefully choosing options that destroy the team's car, are ways of lowering the whole team's morale.

Gruelling Victory
Beat the game mode Marathon Mode for the first time.
Marathon Mode doubles the usual amount of time to get to Canada by 30 days, and, like Long Winding Road Mode, gradually increases the difficulty as time goes on. It's unlocked by completing the eight gamemodes before it (Normal Mode, Familiar Characters (+ Extreme), Rare Characters (+ Extreme), Long/Short Mode). Just like Winding Road Mode, the difficulty of the game is compensated by the player's increasingly gifted team and powerful weapons. Keep in line with the difficulty by training your team, and occasionally going for the scavenging sites advertising weapons (eg gun shop). However, the overwhelming amount of zombies is a death sentence for a solo or two-player team, so always aim for 4 characters.

Will I get an achievement if I select a rare character in O*P*P mode and beat it? All rare and other characters are present from the start. You can take up to 4 characters there.

I just answered my own question. If you have four normal dogs, it looks like the game is going to end, but then one dog gets supertrained.

For the dog squad, do you NEED a superdog? Or is it possible to have all four of your characters be dogs? The reason I ask is that you cannot send out a team with only animals, because you need someone able to make decisions, like a human or a superdog. I've had four dogs using OPP mode, and one was a superdog. I wasn't able to send just a regular dog out in that scenario, so I imagine if you ever have four regular dogs you'd just lose?

I just needlessly killed one of my people because of your advice. I believe this here is wrong, regarding trying to recruit the goat.

"If the team is too full, it will refuse to join, so, if on meeting it, there's no space, you'll have to blow up one of your characters. Once recruited (which requires someone with good composure) "

I arrived with four characters.
I blew one of them up.
I have a character with good composure who talked to the goat.
Goat has no option to recruit.

Finally got "Omega Streak"!
The description is misleading, it's the first 10 modes EXCLUDING 4 jerks and 4 jerks extreme (not the first 10 modes in the list, perhaps it was at some point when they made that achievement).

My advice / how I did it:
- Start with Kepa mode with Phoenix/Trademark Weapon + Phoenix / Top Seller. Kepa does not need to survive. Phoenix/Trademark will give you a "hot poker" melee weapon which sets a zombie on fire to help survive this crazy mode at 200% zombies. No need to hire early (easily get killed by fire anyway) but reduce/stop using the poker once you loose phoenix fire immunity or hire a better character to control (can even sell poker).
- Once you beat Kepa, go backwards in the modes list (skip 4 jerks) with Phoenix / Athlete + Civilized / Top Seller. It's better to get rid of the hardest modes first, start over at Kepa if you fail.
The civilized side kick gets you through personality events and bandits, more food when selling stuff to buy good gear.

You tagged only 2 hidden achievements, I think the one you forgot to tag is "NICE ONE, HOSER".

Does it matter which Thanksgiving? Because Canada and America celebrate it on different days; would it work on both or just one of the two?
