How to do it
First of all, select a full upgraded possessed weapon and drop it. Then, take your weapon back. You will see that the "red skulls" have been reset BUT the stats still there (critical chance, execution chance, etc). Amazing isn't it? With this glitch you can keep upgrading them!

EDIT: the level of the possessed weapons is represented by RED SKULLS


Here I will show you that this glitch really works. Watch the next video and see it by yourself:


As you can see, my possessed weapon can't be upgraded anymore because it reached his MAX level (upgrade text will appear in RED color if so). But, after dropping the weapon and picking it up again, the game lets me upgrade it again. I discovered this glitch some days ago. I found this really useful so I shared it to the community. Happy infinite upgrading for all!

EDIT: I'm playing the game in Spanish, so "mejorar" means "upgrade"

Anyone can confirm that still work in 2025? If is not possible to do this trick anymore i will delete this guide

The only issue with this glitch is that when you upgrade the weapon the stats can go down if you aren't careful, like an upgrade to resistance that gives you less resistance

The best thing I have found when the "Invalid ID" shows up is to stop trying to upgrade the weapon and visit Vulgim to Buy another Possessed Weapon and feed the old weapon into the new one. That is of course I have not picked up a new one already.

Funciona, pero tambien hay un problema, hay un limite, no le podemos subir mas stats al arma de los que pueda aguantar, asi como tienes 38% de robo de vida en esa arma, es lo maximo que me ha dejado subirle (al robo de vida).
