Berinskaya, Eastern Russia

Welcome to Berinskaya, a fictional location in the russian far east, inspired by many existing locations in Siberia, Birobidzan, Magadan and Amur Oblast.
It was designed for a russian - soviet themed city, but it could be used realistically for other cities in similar climates (northern chinese, canadian and american mostly).

It is a european climate map, since it does not represent an area of extremely cold climate, but rather a semitemperate area like the one around the Jewish autonomous oblast. But you are free of course to change it to suit your needs.

Decorative features:

-A big, functional river delta with swamps.
-An extensive, functional grid of irrigation and drainage canals.
-Various realistic minor streams.
-A strip mine.
-The ruins of a small gulag that once housed the workers of the strip mine.
-The old rail connecting the gulag, and its river port, to the external network.
-Various eyecandies.

Gameplay features:

-Central flat land to build a middle to big size city.
-All resources.
-Connections: 3 single lane highways, 4 train, 2 water, 4 air.
-Waterworks: under some of the swamp areas lies precious oil, but you will have to reclaim the land from the waters!
-The strip mine is functional and full of ore, and there are other small ore areas around the map.
-The old rail servicing the gulag can be easily reclaimed into your network to extend it and to rebuild a good rail-water interchange at the old riverport location.
-Different expansion options, with different "rewards".
- NO MOD REQUIRED to use.

NB:
a) For the screenshots, I used Captain Soap's Realistic Map Theme. It's optional of course, but I think Soap's themes really improve the graphic of the game.
b) This map is a total overhaul of my previous Russian Far East map. I'm keeping the "old" version online only for those that do not own Mass Transit.
