"...I quickly created something similar that works on Above and Below and, I feel, is a little less cheat like".
Could you explain a bit more? In what ways is yours less cheaty, aside from also doubling the collaboration loss?
On rovers contributing to research, the wiki says:
"RC Explorers also contribute 100 research points to the research generation directly once the Explorer AI (Robotics) technology has been researched. Multiple vehicles result in collaboration losses. Adding more vehicles results in diminishing returns: the 2nd adds 80 research points, the 3rd adds 60, the 4th adds 40, the 5th adds 20, the 6th adds 0, and each explorer after the 6th adds 50 research points."
This mod quote, "gives 500 research points from RC Explorer Rover", but it does not explain what it means. Is that 500 points per rover, or does it give a one-time 500 points for researching the technology?
Or... can you grant permission for others to update this in your stead?
The last game update was over a year ago. And it looks suspiciously like the devs have abandoned the game to it's current state, so I doubt you'd have to worry about future game updates breaking mods again.
I’d love to see a doubling / tripling version.
