"Righteous Stand" is the current name of the first Act in Vermintide 2. The heroes will be fighting through Helmgart to reach the city's Temple of Sigmar in order to ring the church's bell while the Grey Wizard, Olesya, does a bit of recon.

Along the way, there are a total of five books to be found here, as in most levels of the previous game: three Tomes, which occupy the third slot normally reserved for healing items, and two Grimoires, which occupy the fourth slot normally reserved for potions and reduce each party member's maximum health.

For expediency, the shots taken in this guide were done on Recruit difficulty and in a private game.

The first book you will find can be found early on in the level, just after the market square with the fountain.












Turning left toward the portcullis, there will be a cart at the back which may or may not have an explosive barrel.












Jump on top of the cart and an open crate at the top of the pile will have the first Tome.

After fighting off the Skaven and Chaos in the arena, ascend the lift to the Watch Barracks.











Proceed through the door, fighting off more enemies (if any) and locate the following stack of crates:











Jump on top of the stack and turn left toward the next stack of crates.











Jump across and walk on the bunk frame to the wall, turning to the right at the crates against the wall. The Grimoire is in an open box on top of the stack.

The second tome is found just after the South Bastion, in the tower that starts with the staircase.











Normally, you'd proceed out the door on the left, but instead go up the ramp on the right.











Continue to the hole in the floor in the back corner and look down.











The Tome is in the open box on the platform below.

This is the most difficult book to get in the Act, as it requires a bit of parkour to reach.











After fighting through the North Bastion (with the ammo crate on the crane), go up the ramp into the tower and straight out the door leading to the chasm and look right, at the beams jutting out from the wall above the tower doors.











Here's where things get a bit tricky. Starting from the top of the wooden stairs, carefully jump onto each of the beams until you see the barricaded window.











Jump onto the window sill, duck inside, and locate the lever on the left side of the door overlooking the North Bastion.











The lever releases the ladder on the scaffold where the Grimoire is located.











Jump onto the ladder and climb up to find the Grimoire in the open box.

The third Tome (and final book) is located in a cave right before entering the Temple of Sigmar, hidden behind a thick patch of bushes. First, proceed to the Temple Terrace along the grassy cliff.











Find the back corner of the rock wall covered by bushes and walk straight inside.











Follow the small cave until you see a stash of broken barrels and a dead Skaven. The Tome is in the open box in the corner.

I recommend using any item that grants curse resistance when going for all five books, as it softens the effect of the Grimoires when the party acquires both. For example, my current gear (at the time of posting) has a trinket that grants 30.8% curse resistance, so with two Grimoires I only lost about 20% max hp each (instead of 33%), leaving me with roughly 60% maximum health instead of the normal 33% under standard circumstances. It'll give your character an edge when dealing with the rush during the final stand inside the temple so the party can escape and get that reward boost at the end of the Act.
