Tip #1 Making a map
Use platforms to your advantage
They can hold many things
There is a difference between a platform and ground.

Platforms can hold:
Crates
You (for a short period)
Spikes
Weapons



This is as of version 0.9 of stick fight editor
Tip #2 Weapons
You can pick a weapon for anywhere but it will fall as soon as the game starts

To stop this put anything from: Ground, Crates (Big and normal), Spikes (if that's your kind of thing), and You.

All the weapons are set up in rows Not Columns. They are in the same ordering but sideways

Tip #3 The Layout
You can pick anything for the map to become like:
Woods
Lava
Laser
Desert
Winter
etc...

There are flaws in each map that different from normal maps, on Winter maps the ground is not Ice so don't expect to break anything but your gun.

If you want load your map before publishing it to steam, because you'll have to scrap the map if any other flaws are located.

Tip #4 Upload
Before uploading save the map like you are playing Resident Evil, a lot.

If you lose anything from not saving that is on you not me.

Once you save it will tell you to selcet a name, when doing this tap the name area, Then type do not wait for it to clear the "Map Name" text.

Like I said in the Maps section you can test your game. This is very important if you want to be a master level editor (still sounds cheesy).

Well this was a short guide. I wanted it to be longer but early versions of the game restrict me from doing so (for now).

If you are a true fan of the game, try these tips out when making your own level, you don't have to publish it publicly just to your friends.

Hello first of all thank you for writing this guide even though I haven't found what I looked for I appreciate the detail you have put into this guide. By the way I have a question if that's ok and I'd love to get an answer if you'd be so kind then thanks and here it is. Is there a way to extend the features somehow? By that I mean like a menu of options because right now it's like I am on a basic option instead of advanced.I figured out the grid by myself, then I have started to build around the map, adding one of those stands to hold it. The problem is I am clicking for the ground and trying to click around the map holding the mouse but it's not adding the ground do you know how I can fix that? Also I don't see it on my screen (maybe I am dumb) Where can I can add the other stickmen in the first place? I guess I must be blind, even if you're not sure I'll appreciate any help.

two things to add: (if you want) hitting 'Ctrl' will show a grid, that in turn acts as a guidline for 'snap' mode. also, weapons will (for some reason) spawn about one grid-tile to the left of where they were placed. just some stuff to think about!!!!
