Overall Tips
  • Moving
Move crouching and not running - you make less noise this way. Moreover, doing so you keep your head low, and this makes you a harder target.
  • Corners
Use leaning (buttons "Q" and "E" by default) when approaching a corner - again, you make yourself harder to hit. If pressed with "Ctrl", you can lean slightly, which is safer, but takes much more time to perform.
  • Doors
Open doors using mouse wheel, it gives you an opportunity to throw a grenade or scan the room without exposing yourself to enemy.
  • Firing mode
Use semi-automatic firing mode only. Even in close range, full-auto suffers from weak precision. Besides, you save ammo when using semi-auto.
  • Cover
ALWAYS stay in cover. Leave cover only if you are 100% sure there is no more T's in sight; otherwise move along cover - it can be a wall, some crates, barrels etc.
Singleplayer Tips
  • Planning
When creating a squad, make sure that the first Rainbow Six Operative (RSO) in the squad has high Leadership skill. Try to make it simple, but not too simple - otherwise it will be just a set of waypoints. Try to change the plan if it doesn't work. Try to create squads with different specialities and distribute gear accordingly to the speciality you gave to the squad.
  • Using AI
AI is combinig plain stupidity with good combat skills - they are good at moving at shooting, but a whole squad can die just because they are not smart enough to throw a grenade the right way. So either use them for clearing the area only or take over control of the squad when it comes to a difficult move/maneuver/action.
  • Gear
It's very tempting to try every single gun in the game, for there are lots of them, but be consecutive - don't combine different kinds of weapon inside of a squad. It's okay to have one SMG and two Assault Rifles in a squad, but having a Shotgun, a Sniper Rifle and a Machine Gun in one squad mostly won't work. Combinig grenades, on the contrary, is good - try to have all kinds of grenades in a squad, they can help you a lot in a difficult situation.
Multiplayer (Co-op) Tips
Basic rules
Never walk alone - walk with a group or just with someone; the best is to find a partner via chat and to stick together with him/her; communicate with you partner and group if you are seperated so that you don't have friendly fire casualties. Watch you fire and think twice before throwing a grenade - you can hurt or even kill your teammates. Don't by shy using chat and trying to do some teamwork - RS3 is too difficult for unadequate people, so mostly people are ready to cooperate - just remember to be polite if you are trying to set up a plan and to give orders.
  • Moving
When moving with a partner, be sure that the one who's behind covers the rear.

When moving past a passway (T-type), cover you partner.

When approaching a T-type intersection from the bottom, be sure to cover each other.

  • Tactics
Try to be more inventional, use some tactics to diversify your gameplay. For example, RSO #1 provides snipering or covering fire for RSO #2. Develope some roles and try to follow them.
  • Communicate
Use chat or voice commands to communicate with other players to provide information about the situation and don't forget to report in from time to time. Remember - forewarned is forearmed, so help your teammates.

i'd like to add that you should use FLUID POSTURE as much as you can [your body freezes while leaning to one side, so you can cover a corner much more safely]. change the sensitivity value in save\profiles\user.ini to something like:

m_iFluidMovementSpeed=200
[the vanilla setting is WAY too slow]

this also helps you crouch just the exact amount you need for that perfect shot.

watch the videos on my channel sou you understand what i mean. i use it ALL THE TIME.

Also, look for the SP and MP mods the comunity is coming up with. They are TOTALLY game changing. My videos also have them applied, including full mod list on info.

AI surrenders very randomly, and I haven't figured out any dependence or relation yet.
delta07™ 2016 年 4 月 27 日 上午 12:19
and idea how to get the AI to surrender? its rather anoyying that they rarely ever seem to actualy do so
