As stated by others before: This guide is very outdated. Features which have been implemented years ago are referred to as "recently" introduced. So be very careful with the information you pick up here.
Two tips to prevent picking up the most severe misconceptions in this guide teaches:
1.) the wrench is by far the best choice for gunners. There are very little exceptions where other tools are a viable options. Under no circumstance a non-repair tool is a viable option for a gunner. This explicitly includes chemspray. Really, just bring a wrench!
2.) The ammo-loudout recommendations section is filled with outdated or outright false information. I suggestion to avoid this section entirely, as it's more likely you'll pick up misconceptions than useful information here as a new player. Let me dissect the incendiary entry to illustrate my point (and note that most other ammo-entries are similarly flawed):
- "10% chance to have what's hit burst into flame" - false information. The ignition chance/shot is 20%.
- "the Manticore and Gattling Gun work well" - incendiary rounds are a horrible choice for the Manticore. The average 3 fire stacks incendiary rounds yield per manticore volley do not make up for the reduced clip size incendiary rounds imply in any scenario. Even normal rounds always outperform incendiary rounds. Good ammo choices for the manticore are burst rounds (DPS, dmg/clip and AoE optimization) and heavy clips (accuracy on long range). On the Gatling gun incendiary rounds are borderline viable at best - again the ignition chance does not make up for the reduced DPS and damage/clip. greased or heavy are generally better picks for the gatling gun.
- "Don't use it with the Dragon's Breath Flamethrower, you idiot, you can't make flame more flamey." - false information. the ignition chance effect of incendiary rounds DOES affect the flamer thrower like any other gun.

Also, thanks for the breakdown on the different ammo types. I know the stats are given in-game, but it can be a little difficult to translate that into the in-game effect for any given weapon.
