Here you will learn how to create your own animations which you can then use with your own Sprites and custom AI to make a Unit that is uniquely your own!



An Animation is made up of various Body Parts each with its own Keyframes.

This is the interface for the Animator



On the left side you see the current list of Body Parts and their Timeline.

When you select a Body Part you can see the current state of that Body Part in the Inspector.

Animations tween their state in-between Keyframes


Let's create a basic Animation

Click 'New' and write an Animation Name, for example: 'Test'

Now you see the default Body Parts without any animation.
We're going to make a basic Idle Animation where the Unit simply moves up and down.
Click the button to add a Keyframe to all Body Parts


Set all Body Parts Frame Count to 20 which means the Animation will have 20 frames in-between the first Keyframe and the second.


Now let's move the Body Parts
Select the Head Body Part


Use the Vertical Arrow and drag the Head up a bit


Do the same for the Body, HandL, HandR, Weapon and Shield Body Parts


Click the button to duplicate the first Keyframes on the end


Set all Body Parts Frame Count to 20
Click the Play button




Congratulations! You made an Idle Animation!


Units have Animations in various directions, for the Idle Animations you need Down, Up, Left, Right.
Since you have made a IdleDown Animation, click the 'Generate Up' button to automatically generate the IdleUp Animation.

In order to use an Animation in a Unit you must first group animations in a Animation Type, check the guide for making a Animation Type.
