Fixing SKSE64 after the new update [UPDATED FOR APRIL 2018]

Today Skyrim Special Edition had an update which changed the game's runtime version. If your game has updated today, you will not be able to launch SKSE64 until either
a) SKSE64 is updated and you install the new version, or
b) You replace the game's executable with the previous version

Here is a short How To: on downgrading your Skyrim executable for those too impatient to wait for the SKSE64 update.

STEP 1
Press Win+R, and type: steam://nav/console

STEP 2
In the Steam console that opens, type: download_depot 489830 489833 7780040377772731640

STEP 3
Navigate to your /steamapps/content/app_489830/depot_489833/ folder.

STEP 4
Move SkyrimSE.exe to your /steamapps/common/Skyrim Special Edition/ folder and replace the file already there.

STEP 5
Now navigate to your library tab in the Steam window. Right click Skyrim Special Edition and select "properties".

STEP 6
Navigate to the Updates tab and choose to only update your game when launching the game.
Launching Skyrim from SKSE64 does not promt Steam to update your Skyrim game; keeping you safe from this nightmare happening again.

Also, you can try this for next updates. Made a copy of the archive "skyrimSE.exe", you should rename it, by example: "skyrimSE_Old". When the new update come, just make copy of the new "SkyrimSE" like this, "SkyrimSE_New". Make other copy of the old archive to "SkyrimSE". Now, you got a copy of both archives, until you get the new version of Skse64. Just recover the archive "SkyrimSE_New" to "SkyrimSE"

Do you know what it is for the SKSE64 2.0.7 build, because this didn't work for it and the build isn't working on my fully update Skyrim SE?

i was slightly ann oyed that my game stopped working cause they updated it. i honestly had no clue they were still updating it, so i looked around yesterday to try and find a solution. and couldnt find any, so i looked again today and found this

It would be still functional; however one of the numbers would change. 3146230552641174659 would be changed to the executable that replaced this one (the one that just got replaced). You can find it on steamdb.com
