Kill 30 Rage mutants in Typing of the Dead.


Sounds pretty easy, right? Well, sort of.

This. This is a Rage Mutant.

These mutants will run up to you and your character will auto-grapple with them.
You will then type a 3-5 letter word, three times, to go into a kill cutscene.
The cutscene is over after your screen flashes.

There are a total of 8 Rage Mutants throughout the entire game.

2 in Carny, where you first encounter them.
2 in Scream Train
3 in Jailhouse Judgement
1 in Overkill

Assuming that you have played through the game twice (once on normal, and again on Hardcore), you will only have killed 16 Rage Mutants. Only 14 more to go!

Want to get your achievement as legitimately as possible?
Or maybe you found a custom dictionary you like in The Workshop and you'd like to try it out on a whole level.

To get your last 14 Rage Mutants, play through Jailhouse Judgement 4 times, and Scream Train or Carny once for the quickest possible full-level playthrough.

Or, you know, whatever, this guide isn't really for you, person who wants to do it the long way.

After playing through the game twice, you probably just want to get this achievement over and done with as soon as possible, right?

1. Make sure you're playing Typing of the Dead and not House of the Dead.
   
2. Load up Scream Train.
   
3. Play until you kill the first Rage Mutant, maybe 1 minute in.
   
4. Make sure you wait until the kill cutscene is completely finished.
   
5. Quit the level and repeat.

This method is confirmed working as of Apr 16 2021.

If it does not work for you, you may not be waiting long enough after killing the Rage Mutant.
Try waiting to quit the level until after you kill the next mutant that pops up.

That's all there is to it.
