You can skip a lot of stuff due to the amount of portalable surfaces. I brought the cube with me because I assumed there'd be a button for the exit. Fired portal on wall above water hole and one on wall by exit. Jumped through. You need to take out those portalable surfaces next to the ledge. I also did it the correct way, too. Just needs to be tightened up a bit.

Interesting scenery, puzzles a little simple. The pedestal button by the lift is not necessary, as lifts automatically take you up if they have no connections.
