in DX:HR you run by default. Crouch AND switch to walk speed (CAPS lock key by default). This way you can approach the proximity mine without triggering it. Simply press the use key to disarm it. Afterwards you can use it yourself!

nice suggestion, but it seems i cannot post the guide on director's cut version, because I don't own that game.. Maybe you can create a guide and link to this one..

Hello, could you please repost this guide for Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut? It works the same way, but this guide is missing there and quite a few players are probably struggling with this.
