If other units are crowded around the IFV, that might be a cue to just switch to something else (like a red stratagem, such as Strafing Run or Vindicator) to clear them out first. Sometimes the best option is simply to wait for a better opportunity.
Like, in your end, your missile hits and it damages the IFV, but in real time in host's end the missile have not hit the IFV yet, but almost, but when it does hit, the data or whatever thinks the IFV got hit twice.
But anyway, even if you don't one shot the IFV, as long as you can damage the IFV and leave the IFV be like that in a spot that it won't be a threat to you, your allies and the objectives, is good. To me, it's a good strategy to do that. Saves ammo when you do that.
