How to fix problems with Windows 7 (Advanced guide)

Guide for people who have a problem with their Counter-Strike on Windows 7.

It usually happens if you have only 1 core.

Console
Problem with console typing, can't use a,e,i,o,u letters or console close by it self.

  • Go to Control Panel
  • Click on "Change keyboards or other input methods."
  • Click on keyboard and languages.
  • "Change keyboards..."
  • In General tab click add language.
  • Find English(United Kingdom) if it's by default find Engish (United States) and add that languge.
  • Now in drop menu change English(US) to English (Uk) or UK to US to be default language.
  • If still have a problem with default language click on English US and remove it, then your default language 100% will be English(UK) or US
Increase FPS
Increasing FPS by disabling Vertical Sync
  • On desktop right click "NVIDIA Control Panel"
  • Manage 3d Settigs
  • Scroll to Vsync
  • Click force off and apply.


Ingame FPS increasing

    In game console type
    fps_max 101 cl_updaterate 101 cl_cmdrate 101 rate 25000 ex_interp 0.01
  • For now your fps will be around 100.
  • Be sure to use OpenGL and 32bit.
Steam Settings for lag reduce
Runing counter-strike in windows xp mode

  • On steam icon right click -> propretis
  • Click on Compatibility tab.
  • Stick "Run this program in compatibility mode for:".
  • Now select Windows Xp (Service Pack 3).
  • Click apply.
Reduce freeze
Fixing stuck and lags when someone use sounds like cover me, need backup and etc.

  • Run game
  • Minimize the game (alt+tab)
  • Right click on Taskbar and choose "Start Task Manager".
  • In taskmanager click on Processes Tab
  • Now find Hl.exe right click on it click on "Set priority" and click Low.
  • Now you get pop-up windows for confirm action and click "Change Priotiry"
  • After this Back in game and you will see the difference

IMPORTANT: Every time when you start cs you must do this step because computer doesn't save priority for any program.
