Steps to Follow

Download this .cfg file here[raw.githubusercontent.com] - right click on the page and click on "Save as...".
Put the file in the directory below:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\cfg

This location depends on the hard drive your L4D2 files are located at, and the operating system you're using.
Run the game. In the main menu, click Options, then Multiplayer. Disable Color Blind Mode if it's enabled.
To execute the commands necessary for this script, you need the developer console. In the main menu, click Options, then Keyboard/Mouse. Enable the console.

To access the console, press the ~ key (tilde).
Type this in the console:

exec autoexec
That's it! When you enter a game, press F7 to turn on/off the script. You can change the key by modifying the last line of the script.
