Underdog

A 10 minute betting game for 3-6 fighters, consisting of just 15 cards of strength 1 through 15.

This is an original game that is actively being prototyped - comments and suggestions appreciated.

The rules are simple. Each round the following occurs:

Place all cards in a face down shuffled pile.
Deal 1 card face down to each fighter.
Deal an underdog card face up in the middle.

First, everyone (beginning with the challenger) gets the chance to either fix the fight (by flipping the top card of the deck and choosing which to keep as the underdog) or train (draw a card, choose one to keep). The unwanted card of either action is discarded.

Next, everyone decides to:
Ante 1 or 2 chips (it's how much you could win from the sponsor pile) in front of you, or concede (place your card face down in front of you). However, if you have the most chips (unless everyone is equal) or if you are the challenger then you can not concede.

For those who did not concede, Fight!

Whoever has the lowest strength card adds the underdog card to their total strength. The fighter with the highest strength wins the round (ties won by whoever played first)!

The winnings are distributed and if the sponsor pile is empty then the game is over, otherwise the victor starts the next round as the new challenger.
