first of all, im writing this based on my own experiment. i dont know programming, i dont know commputer language, nothing. i just read things on internet, i just did what i found out. im writing this only to share what i found out with someone who desperately wants to turn off bloom effect in this awfully bad game.

i tried to turn off bloom, but no guide on internet, but only to find some guides about Dead Island tweaks. Dead island uses the same chrome engine as call of juarez cartel. so, i just tried and tested things on cartel to see it would work. ... and i was able to turn that darn ass painful bloom effect off. here is what i did.

go to gamefolder \ MD \ Data0.pak

browse inside data0.pak file with 7zip. once you get inside the data0.pak file,

go to data \ postprocess \

you need to extract 3 files here. front30.ppfx, indoor30.ppfx, scene30.ppfx

all 3 files are under the postprocess folder.

now copy the three extraced files to

C \ user name \ Documents \Call of Juarez - The Cartel \ out \ Data \ Postprocess

you may need to create "Data" folder and "postprocess" folder under the data folder.

now, you open scene30.ppfx with text editor

find SUN_RAYS

you need to add // mark to nullify some lines there.

remove (put // mark) from SUN_RAYS line to // BLUR line

it looks like this

its almost over 50 lines, so look carefully and add // mark to remove lines.

now do the same thing to front30.ppfx file

now open indoor30.ppfx file and find GLOW 4th

remove lines from //GLOW 4th to // BLUR

save and done.

i dont know how it works. and i even dont know whether this is correct. but it works for me.

no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bloom in the game, and it looks much much better. this still horrible game, cuz i still got atorcious stuttering issue.

i really love juarez series, but this is cleary the worst game among them, and i dont want to waste any more time with this POS. i just leave this for someone who is desperate enough to follow this stupid guide.
