Because that step is not necessary. You can change it back if you want it to look nicer, but you can play with a different resolution and the game doesn't crash... Once again, I'm helping fixing the bug, not making the game look better

Well this guide doesn't at all make that clear "change resolution" and "change resolution and then back again" are different

You are not trying to undestand.Let me explain
1. Booted up the game
2. The resolution was FINE, awesome, 1920x1080p, no need for changes
3. Start the play
4. Game crashed, freezing completely when my PC was more than capable
5. Went to look what to do and found similar people with the same glitch

A resolution isnt supposed to crash, just make a game look better or worse. People with this problem if they booted the game again and changed the resolution to another one and then changed it back the game didnt crash anymore. It isn't a matter of changing res to look better

Yeah but how the heck did you come across a 2012 game in 2017 while not being enough of a gamer to know how to set your resolution? And why, 5 years later, do you still not realise how silly a guide this is?

read the last comment. if it doesn't happen to you it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. it was a crashing issue, not a not looking good issue xD

Is this a guide about how it's best to run the game at the same resolution as your monitor? Because that's basic common sense.

Its not how to use the settings, its how to fix a bug. I spent a lot of time back then searching for how to fix it. The guide is not on how to change resolution, but saying that changing the resolution will eliminate the crashes. If the game crashes and you have a good computer are you just going to assume that the problem is the resolution straight away? I won't :/

This is the most basic thing every PC Gamer should know wtf xD nice "guide" how to use settings in a game.
