There are 2 basic strategies when the round starts

1: Head for the central area of the map.
! Note that the exact center is never the same as but is usually in a open field with little to no cover so it is recommended to grab some cover or try not to be seen.
2: Play for kills.
This is a nice strategy for thinning out competition later in the game.Move around the edge of the barrier at the start of the match looting and killing players before they are well equiped.
! Note that this strategy is risky because you most likely also wont be well equiped.

Weapons
1: Hopefully you already know your playstyle for example support gunner,sniper etc. Choose weapons you believe will be of use in the final round( I recommend atleast 1 gun that can do full auto) as well as weapons that can be usefull in the time between the start of the match and the end.
2: Assault rifles are among the most versatile weapons followed closely by sub-machine guns.
3: A good strategy is to carry 2 different kind of weapons (for example a ranged weapon and a close engagement weapon ! Note that they can be same gun with different attatchments and fire modes).
4: Try to stay away from the LMG's as they are ineffectives untill you get close to other players.
5: Think twice before simply picking up a weapon as your weapon may be more effectives than what's on the ground.

Equipment
1: Most gear you use will depend on your playstyle.
2: Taking everything can be beneficial and gives you adaptibility in fire fights
3: Buildings are great places to find loot and players
4: As of so far there are a few "traps" that can be used such as claymore mines anti-personnel mines and barbed wire
5: Deployed shields give you a good idea of which way players are headed and where to expect players

If possible get some friends and practice some teamwork as your team as a whole will share rankings (as long as noone disconnects) and gives you a numbers advantage as well as sharing equipment and information.If you decide to play with friends try to keep a safe distance of about 3m from each other and try to look in separate areas as you move for a more diverse means of target identification.Voice communication goes a long way when coordinating movements and tactics.Try to use a independent VOIP and not the game as others can also hear you talk and this can work to your disadvantage.

There are various ways track players or know if you are being stalked.
1: Listen for footsteps
2: Crouch or move slowly to minimise your noise
3: Lack of Loot in an area indicates someone was/is in the area so expect an engagement
4: Scouting from hills or rooftops is not advised as you will quickly be spotted and trapped
5: Use brush and trees for cover from detection or bullets (you can't shoot what you can"t see)
6: Don't stay in a area too long as enemies may figure out where you are
7: Gunfire and explosions are dead give-aways so try to avoid it unless you feel you can benefit from one less player early on
