How did you understand the XDR base? Can you help?
I want to replace the animations for player in GMOD with anims from Ellis.
That's vague.
you can find them in left4dead2-materials-correction.
1.you need to create a folder inside the "bin" folder in Left 4 Dead 2. not in left4dead2, but Left 4 Dead 2. name it whatever you want. ex: "cc mod"
2. inside the new folder, create a folder and name it "materials", inside "materials", create another folder and name it "correction", inside "correction", put your color correction .raw files there. doesn't need to include .vcc file.
3. drag the "cc mod" into the app called "vpk"
4.publish your mod via authoring tool workshop manager
you may wanna test it first, so, put the vpk version of cc mod into your "addon" folder

It will be a lot of fun
will you consider making something similar with the Female Arbeit sceintists? like making a model with a labcoat to match the male ones?
