Dishonored 2: Dishonor harder

There are improvements and downgrades.
You get more powers, a proper new game+, more combat options, bone charm and rune crafting to get really fun combinations.

The levels are bigger, but their design is more linear, ironically, and getting all collectibles or even progressing through the story sometimes feels tedious, as you search for the key/code in a large area instead of being allowed to progress at your own pace, teleporting over everything is rarely an option.
The story centered much less on the main character, to the point where the outcome doesn't change no matter who you choose. You also don't get a lot of interactions between the Corvo and Emily and it feels like you have no motive to progress besides finishing the story.

It's more bloated and linear, but it's still dishonored. High chaos runs are still high chaos runs, and figuring out how to save someone is still the same.

Definitely play the first game with DLCs and then come here if you want more.

If you liked the original Swords & Souls, it's worth checking out, even just to see how far you can go with the training minigames.

The only thing that bothered me, aside from the occasional low quality sprite, was the characters. It feels like an idea that could've gone a long way, the game gives you a bit of interaction which makes them feel not like wooden planks, but sometimes their stories remain unresolved.

The townsfolk are perfectly fine, the pupset being the most fleshed out character in the game, companions are where some problems start. They open up and act more friendly as you have more adventures with them, but you yourself have no options related to them. A simple "talk" option would be nice.

The worst offenders are by far the witch and soph. These characters are pivotal to the story, but you get zero interaction with them outside of combat. Neither gets closure, the ending is abrupt and unsatisfying and the entire story ends up unresolved

That's the only noticeable flaw with this game. The training minigames are fun enough to keep you invested and some new mechanics are appreciated, like parrying and dodging on demand. The combat is fun, the presentation is very charming and the humor made me chuckle a few times.

There's a character in this game with 2 grounded fireballs, one of them multi-hit, 2 differently angled air fireballs, 2 dragon punches, a plus-on-block pressure reset, a frame 7 advancing low, a unique debuff he can apply to his opponent to strenghten his specials and a comeback install super that gives him access to dp loops.

That character is referred to by the players as the white bread and water of the game, as plain and generic as it gets.

Also canonically his wife is like 12 and they have a fully grown 5 year old son
