Hi. There are two that I hope I get the names correct. One is named "Citizen Soldier", by Stepen Ambrose.. I think he wrote several books so you have to make sure you get the WW2 book. In it is a series of stories about average Joe's getting called up and just doing their duty. I remember one was about being in a bomber and how he just decided not to worry and let God handle things. Another book was called "A higher call" and is about a B17 that was damaged and is "escorted" back to safety by a LW pilot. Finally, Tom Brokaw's "The greatest generation" I believe has a few stories in it regarding bomber pilots, but maybe not all B17. I'm sure that there are more out there. I remember reading a few books about World War 2 in general (large text books lol) and you would always find a section on bombers and fighters and the missions. Too many of these to count.

Hey I just saw your review for the mighty 8th redux. It's a really good review. In it you said something about reading a book about a typical B17 mission and I just wanted to ask if you had any books in mind?
