Solid and tight Metroidvania style game starring blood-soaked conehead as you murk your way through a freakshow of suffering. See the boy with two faces! He pokes at it like a scab! See the ♥♥♥♥♥ with three faces! Jesus Christ! Combat is pretty solid. Doesn't inundate you with a bunch of moves but what is there works fine to battle the allegories of guilt. Plus you can add powers and modifiers to suit your style of foightin'. The puzzles aren't hard to figure out of your paying attention, although you may need the wiki to piece together what to do with, say, a holy hairball or some ♥♥♥♥. Music and sounds effect are pretty good. Guitar melodies accompany your pilgrimage and the sound of metal cleaving through flesh when you land dem executions is pretty satisfying if there is something wrong with you. I even learned a bit looking up some of the references this game makes to Roman Catholicism. For example, did you know that we are all sinners and are doomed to eternal torment?

8/10, probably a 9 if I strapped myself to somekind of medieval torture device that slowly flayed my skin while I played for full immersion.
