I purchased this game during the Game Awards sale- it quickly became one I can't put down. The voice acting is charming, the story is compelling, and the combat for most of the weapons is sublime. At time of review, I've owned the game for 10 days and have a total of 44 hours in the game, having just beat the "main" story today after 50 or so runs. I hadn't considered myself a rogue-lite player, but this game has me reconsidering that position on the entire genre . This game's visual style is impactful, communicative, and truly adds to the experience. Sound design is solid, only confusing me occasionally when something activates. The music is haunting and beautiful. I find myself wanting to 100% complete a game where you do nothing but bash yourself into an inevitable demise.

All in all- a 5 star experience from a game and genre I expected a 3 star experience with.
