I would absolutely recommend this game to anybody interested in the 4X category!

My first game: joined a cult / fan club for Miranda Cosgrove aka Carly Shay from Hit kids TV show iCarly, I led a drunk and high man to glory on the battlefield, I hunted houses with some fellow frenchmen in the isles, I convinced a man to pursue a career in acting, I opened up a colonoscopy clinic with a belligerent agriculturalist, and I enthralled an army as a drummer.

I've been playing this game on and off for about 6 years now. I started out playing on a half-functioning MacBook Air 2013 edition using Wine to run the game, played at 25fps the entire time.

This game has been with me through every upgrade I've made in my PC gaming career. It really nails the feeling of being a part of the Star Wars universe (it gets a bit muddy when you get to some of the later expansions but they are working on it), with beautiful visuals, an incredible soundtrack written by John Williams himself that brings me back to the game just to listen to the world while exploring.

As some may have mentioned, the community is great, its just the people in the General / Fleet / Main Hub World Chats are incredibly toxic and often the most vocal. I've played through all of the Imperial class-stories and spend 99% of my time playing on the Imperial side, and the best thing you can do is just /ignore specific players. There are players who dedicate their lives to trolling in the chat, but if you manage to /ignore them all you can find a very kind community beneath all of the dirt that gets thrown into your face.

Gameplay: very fun, very easy to get into, opportunities to succeed with any class with basically any specialization. Some classes and specializations can be considered "better" but honestly as long as you have fun with the class you roll and are willing to play a specific role in Flashpoints / Raids then you're golden!

Stories: While this game is an MMO, it is incredible as a single-player story. Each class story has something new to offer and executes their plots incredibly well. The companion / romance system is very well fleshed out and it adds a great deal of immersion to the universe. The voice actors also do a great job and really make the experience that much better.

This wasn't a very structured review, but from my ~2000 Hours of experience... PLEASE give this game a go if you're even remotely interested in Star Wars or the expanded universe.

If you do plan on getting the game, I highly recommend subscribing at least once, if only for a month. Once you become a subscriber, you unlock all of the expansions they have released and you gain access to any new expansions as they release them!
