I'm a firmware engineer that writes custom hard-real-time operating systems for hand-held industrial equipment. I build machine learning artificial intelligence into our products that is the envy of the industry. I've probably put tens of thousands of people out of work personally, due to the AI that I've implemented that allows the operator to do the job as a high school dropout when it used to require a highly trained technician.
You don't have to be "smart" to solve a rubiks cube, it's an algorithm, a VERY SIMPLE algorithm a child could learn fairly quickly. I was writing more complex algorithms in the context of computer programming when I was 8 years old.
