Any game that doesn't let you change settings (specifically audio levels) before being forced into a series of unskippable cutscenes deserves a negative review, regardless of the gameplay.

Very fun and fast paced racing game, but the "Pure time trial" races are bs. It's practically impossible to get a gold medal in every one of them, because you need literal perfect inputs for every lap. Not sure how the devs thought it was a good / balanced idea.

It's a bit... jankier... than I remember. Still pretty fun though, and I finally managed to beat that island assault tutorial level which I could never do!

It's not a bad game to be honest, the actual gameplay feels pretty solid and it definitely gets you feeling pretty competitive. As many other people have pointed out, the playerbase is tiny and it takes far too long to find a match when (as of writing this review) there are a total of 32 people playing the game.

Personally I don't feel like it's worth £11 for a decent game with dead servers, so maybe pick it up with some friends when it's on sale for £4 - £5.

Another thing that slightly bothers me, not specifically about the game but more towards the marketing, is that it seems like they've tried to force it to become an esport. There's all sorts of reviews from Polygon and The Mirror stating it's going to be "The Next Sports Game Phenomenon" which are plastered all over the trailers, but I reckon that's more off-putting to new players because they might see it as some hardcore game only suited to competitive gamers. Just a thought.

Just play it, it's totally unique (aside from the first game, obviously) and very relaxing. Only negative is that you can unlock all / most of the travel-upgrades before you even start the challenges, which makes them a little too easy. But hey, if you don't want it to be "too easy" then complete the challenges first.

Great game, love it. Best survival game out there imo.

It's ok sometimes but the community is incredibly toxic and there's stupid exploits that haven't been removed for some reason which completely ruin the game.

I mean I got it for like £0.79 or something stupid so I can't really complain, but it is just a cheap Diablo knockoff. The skills and stats menus are identical, as is the quest menu. The voiceacting isn't very good, and I keep cringing whenever I hear the woman say "Not enough mana".

Buy Diablo II instead.
