I've always been a fan of Arkane, and Deathloop feels like the most 'arkany' game yet. It's hard to describe, but if you imagine Dishonered in the middle, Prey at one end (as the least 'arkany'), then Deathloop is at the other end. Prey is one of my favorite games, but whereas it was an homage to the immersive sims of old, Deathloop is a look to the future, trying to craft a whole new breed of immersive sim.

It has it problems, for sure, but what boldly experimental game doesn't? System Shock and Deus Ex both had their share of problems, but it didn't stop them from being 10/10 games that revolutionized a genre, and for me Deathloop is in the same boat. I can understand people finding it mundane and repetitive, but personally I think it has such amazing yet subtle mechanics that form together into a brilliantly cohesive whole.

As far as performance, while it certainly doesn't run great and has some hiccups, for me it didn't run terribly (one my 1080ti), and I didn't encounter the mouse stuerring some did. I'd recommend trying it out and refunding if it runs like crap for you. On the bright side, the devs have been listening and already have a beta branch that I've heard fixes the stuttering.

80+ stealth and assassination. snuck in enemy base, knocked out leader, snuck out while carrying his unconscious body, still undetected. gave him to the enemy faction for 100 grand and ended his factions rule.
