I'll start with saying the characters are both excellent additions to the roster, the DLC map is less streamlined than Limveld and harder to navigate but that kind of seemed like the point that a lot of people are missing about it.

If my opinion changes with more experience I'll update this review, but I liked it personally.

It's the one that started it all, a generator of brutal and unforgettable landscapes that could never be recreated.

The patches have fixed the bugs that plagued the 1.0 release, mileage may vary on the story but coming right off a first-time Disgaea 2 run I would say it's par for the course for a NIS title.

While there are aspects of the gameplay loop I enjoy, the use of AI art assets is so egregious I can not recommend. The writing and gameplay mechanics are so generic that I can't help but wonder how much of the back end of the game was AI generated as well.

what a waste.

It's an incredible story and the pacing is really well done, the characters are deep with interesting motivations, and the artwork is gorgeous.

It's a 10/10 for the audio/visual experience alone.
