I don’t think I’ve ever been this motivated to write a positive review before. So let’s cut to the chase.

Arc Raiders nails the extraction shooter formula in a really good way. The game’s core loop revolves around scavenging derelict locations overrun by a really clever zoo of drones. The gameplay is super fun, addictive, non-repetitive, and well-balanced. Technical performance, optimization, and graphics are out of this world (for real). The variety of maps, level design, and overall atmosphere are top-notch. The sound design is pitch-perfect.

And the lore, of course! It’s smartly crafted, hiding some genuinely cool twists as you skim through the Codex.

But one of the best components here is the element of a social thriller and brutal betrayal. ANYONE can kill you — even that helpful stranger who just assisted you in taking down that pesky Rocketeer. Even the occasional wanderer with whom you just looted the most valuable gear in a dangerous location flooded with all kinds of cybernetic death. In fact, there’s a strong chance they will.

"Don't shoot! Yeah, I'm friendly!" — that’s the most frequent thing you might hear echoing over proximity chat right before getting blasted in the back.

Still, the good guys exist too. You WILL meet them, and when you do, they’ll genuinely have your back.

It's chaotic, dramatic, and occasionally heartwarming, especially in duos or trios. So watch your six, Raider, and have fun on Topside.

Game of the year. Maybe even the decade.
