Not perfect, but I'm enjoying it. Lots of stuff to unlock and customize.

Yes, you can certainly download this program, set it up, and use it without Steam. But the benefits of Steam integration are something I've been seeking for years. It offers a visually stimulating way to organize my old Gameboy Advance favorites, while simultaneously providing me new way to experience them. It supports local and online multiplayer, it has great support for streaming, and (through retroachievements.org) it supports achievements for individual titles regardless of platform.
There will always be things to fix and improve, but this has taken a lot of independent features and bundled them up together. I really look forward to seeing where this project goes from here.
